What travellers are saying
- ksufan88Wichita, KS7,035 contributionsThis 1st century building is in quite amazing shape since it is still in use for concerts and other events. Much of the interior (seats) is missing since the stones were later used as building material for o number of other buildings nearby. The outside walls are in great shape though and you can also visit the tunnels underneath the arena. At night, the walls of the amphitheater are nicely illuminated.Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - biddy01Northamptonshire26 contributionsA really warm welcome and a fabulous experience. We opted for the Taste of Istria wine tasting/food pairing. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed the food and the wine, followed by a short tour of the cellar and a local cocktail. The host was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It's always nice to see a family-run business like this one thriving. Would highly recommend!Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ksufan88Wichita, KS7,035 contributionsThis ancient Roman temple has been preserved amidst the much more modern buildings within the city center. The architecture of the 2,000+ year old building looks exactly like something you would find in major Roman cities. It was not open during our visit in mid-November so we could only admire it from the outside.Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adrienn KBudapest, Hungary19 contributionsGreat experience to discover underwater world. There are plenty of aquariums.
No queing, we did not purchase out tickets befour our visit, we started our visit at 6pm. Not sure if it is crowdy during the day.
Parking is easy, there are plety lots in front of the aquariums. Check both buildings, the one which is bit further from the main entrqnce has the sharks.
We would appreciate more information on the fishes and other animals to learn more.Written August 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Although difficult to appreciate as a stand alone monument it was still impressive with all the carvings and inscriptions still visible, despite the pollution and dirt.Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ksufan88Wichita, KS7,035 contributionsWe had been prepared to climb many steps to visit this hilltop fortress, but were told of an elevator that is located inside the tunnels below the hill. The tunnel entrances are marked as Zerostrasse, and we saw several street signs that helped us find one of the tunnel entrances. There are some historical exhibits in the tunnels but the elevator in the center of the hill was the real timesaver. Unfortunately, I think the elevator closes earlier than the fortress (maybe 3pm). The fortress itself took less than 30 minutes to see. There are several museums in the fort. The one about the soldiers living at the fort was interesting and the ones about pharmacy and Croatian sports not so interesting to us. The view from the top of the tower is also very nice.Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MomofAPNMatawan, NJ165 contributionsWe happened to be in the area at the right time and if you need your souvenir truffles and olive oil, this is the place to buy it. The indoor market is very interesting though not huge. Good place to have coffee in the area as well.Written July 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- James CWest Yorkshire, UK78 contributionsYou must do this.
We booked the Platinum Experience which included a personal guided tour of the museum, a welcome drink, a comprehensive tasting of various olive oils - the good and the bad, an insanely fresh platter of the best of Istrian delicacies and a delicious yoghurt dessert.
I may be over-the-top, but I shed a tear at how wonderful the place is. Maya (apologies for the misspelling possibly!) was exceptional and cared so much about her craft. There was plenty of time to ask questions: I will never look at olive oil the same again! Wine, food, superior olive oils - it simply must be a stop on your trip to Pula.
A visit never to be forgotten. Incredible! We would have paid far more for such a time, but had to settle for purchasing a couple of the finest olive oils in the world on exiting: you should too!Written August 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The vast majority of any displays were dedicated to the historical tram network that no longer exists. You can go through it all in under an hour. Not really worth the effort unless you’ve got time to kill.Written September 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karli SCalgary, Canada24 contributionsI really wanted to try some local Istrian wines and this winery did not disappoint! We did a tasting trying many different kinds of of wine. Our host, Irena, was so kind and so passionate about the wine they produce. I highly recommend Food and Wine Trapan for anyone looking to try some wine in the area. Both casual wine lovers and true enthusiasts will love the wine and the host!Written May 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alessandro FMilan, Italy32,996 contributionsIn the ancient city center, few steps from the castle there’s the church and his convent.
Built in 1314 and dedicated to famous Saint .
Inside the church you will see a masterpiece at the main altar , the golden altarpiece

Luckily we were on hand to get her out but a younger child might of slipped through and gone underneath.Written August 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
