- Coryy20Port of Spain, Trinidad6,377 contributionsOn my way from the Redbox Market to the Dominican Cathedral I passed by the statue in outside the church. Is in the Gardens at the side of the Dominican Republic Church I didn't make much of it but I just took a picture and went on to visit inside the church. However, I later found out that Nikifor Epifaniusz Drowniak or Drovniak Nicephorus-Epiphany Nikifor, was a naive painter, who painted over 40,000 pictures and portraits on sheets of paper, pages, glued scrap paper and cigarette cartons. So a fitting bronze statue was place here with scrap pad in hand, and paint at his feet as a monument and tribute to him.Written July 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jazpopsLewes, UK402 contributionsA truly sad but moving experience which everyone visiting should do. It gives some insight into the terrible history here. Very poignant for me as I know someone who was here at the time in a labour camp. Take time to read the pieces on display. we couldn't get into the actual exhibit but we read the display pieces outside, visited the monument and had a drink at the car wash cafe next door (no English).Written August 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
