I'll start this review with some context: I have never booked a multi-day tour for traveling in all the years I've traveled.
With that being said, I would recommend for anyone wanting to experience something otherworldly, to go see Lençois Maranhenses. Our tour, that was arranged by Elena and her team, packed in so much, from Jericoacoara, to Camocim, to Parnaiba, to 3 different cities bordering Lençois Maranhenses and ending in Sao Luis all in 10 days. It was a packed itinerary, but also, there was some time to rest while being transported between the cities. During this time, we didn't have to worry about anything other than finding food for lunch or dinner. Every tour, every guide, every transportation connection was taken care of by Elena and her team. Even when we had a misunderstanding about activities, we were able to work it out with the tour operators and Elena and her team. Lençois Maranhenses was the highlight of our trip and I already plan to go back and backpack it overnight. It's worth seeing and experiencing for yourself.
Regarding Elena and her team, they were flexible, and helped me understand what options we had, from budget to luxury accommodations, from private to group tours, and even additional destinations if we wanted (I had wanted to go to Chapada Diamantina, but I ran out of time), and Elena was more than ready to offer tour itineraries and transfer options to any places I threw at her. I'm not sure I'm in on tours for every location I go, but I am glad that I had this one for an area that is not well known, as Elena and her team took care of so much.
Overall, if you want to see this route, and are nervous about planning a trip yourself in this area, I would recommend reaching out to Elena and her team.
