What travellers are saying
- Flitz8-A foodie travelsAthens, Greece2,756 contributionsThis beach is good for snorkelling, so take your snorkel kit with, there is some slippery sections so best go with wet shoesWritten February 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SF USan Francisco, CA43 contributionsThis is a must-do experience when visiting this region. Marcos shares his passion and knowledge for the entire process and beyond, including wildlife and the challenges associated with producing chocolate on a small scale. He is keenly tuned to his environment and often pauses to identify the sounds of the jungle and point out interesting sightings. He seems to still experience awe, even after 30 years of living here.
Seeing the chocolate process from start to finish is fascinating. Tasting each stage reveals a complicated and laborious path to these tasty treats.Written April 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Dise1 contributionVeragua rainforest was a memorable experience. The park is one of the most impressive facilities you can find. The gondola ride was beautiful. The zip line experience was thrilling. The butterfly garden was breathtaking. Our tour guide Marco was knowledgeable, articulate, and friendly. Among other things, we learned about ventriloquist frogs, the “difference” between butterflies and moths, the most lethal snakes on the planet, and Costa Rica’s economy.Written June 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- mnzamoraCosta Rica179 contributionsThe national park is in Cahuita town which is a small but beautiful town. If you enter by Playa Blanca entrance, adjacent to the town of Cahuita, the fee is a voluntary contribution in cash.
We parked our car on “ Restaurante National Park ” parking lot just outside the park for $5. The trails were easy and well shaded with lots of wildlife watching opportunites. Definetely will come backWritten June 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Ingrid M7 contributionsWe saw many birds, alligators, monkeys, iguanas and other animals on a boat tour. - Travel4FunNorfolk, NE68 contributionsWhile we only had a couple of tropical blended drinks at this place while we waited for our taxi driver, the staff was friendly and welcoming. It was a good reprieve to get off the beach and was clean and charming.Written March 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Matt A2 contributionsFun and informative! We had a laid back walk around this wonderful garden. Definitely recommend the guided tour as we would have missed so much without our helpful guide Alan. Must do if you're in Puerto Viejo. Great for kids as well our 8 and 5 year old boys loved it! We sampled some of the fruit growing on the trees. The 'cas' juice at the end was fantastic.Written April 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- mgmaderoMexico City, Mexico5 contributionsWe stayed at the tree house for the night and fell in love with the forest, view and sight! A beautiful forest filled with wildlife and protected with love and dedication by Peter who knows every tree, animal and inch inside and out. It was a pleasure speaking with him, and we are thankful with him for protecting such a sacred space and bringing so much of himself to the experience. I am person generally scared of spiders and am not a total nature nut, but this was an experience worth having and I would totally repeat. I cannot wait to go back and thank you to Peter and his team for sharing!Written May 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

The guides were great, and they provided a nice lunch after our tour. They offered zip lining, we chose not to participate on this trip.
