What travellers are saying
- mandfo76 contributionsWe booked the tram, trails and lunch tickets. Since there wasn’t a cruise ship in town that day, we ended up having the place to ourselves which was crazy cool. Our tour guide, Kendrick, was great. He was very knowledgeable about the various plants and animals. We saw a viper snake, frogs, lizards and birds. The lunch was really good. The last part of the drive up to the park is rough. I probably wouldn’t have driven up there in a smaller car. We had an SUV and it was fine. If you are staying near Limon, it is definitely worth the time to visit.Written January 24, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also seen were spider and Howler monkeys. toucans and crocodiles. Our driver and guide were great. Such beautiful plant life in the forest. - Alen P9 contributionsReally great place, very good maintained and especially very nice host. When we arrived it was like a private tour as there was no one else. Best place to see wild nature of Costa Rica (butterflies, red frogs, different species of trees and plants, when you are lucky even more..). Highly recommended!Written January 31, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PiersonSan Diego, CA4 contributionsI loved this beach. The water was nice and refreshing, and the food was decently priced and delicious. There are umbrellas and chair for purchase. The only problem was that the semi-strong waves made it hard for certain people to enjoy the water.Written December 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Flamur LZurich, Switzerland40 contributionsWe gather a lot of information about the history of this city and saw its real beauty. Indeed the best of Limon is its people! - MikeB82781New York City, NY55 contributionsThis was a great excursion. Exploradores Outdoors was the tour provider - via Princess Cruises shore excursions. Tour guides were excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable. The river was fun! Decent rapids but nothing crazy, don’t worry. Saw a couple sloths along the way... we were actually able to pull over to get out of the raft for a closer look. Buffet lunch afterwards was a nice touch. Highly recommend. Thanks guys!Written November 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- gblack7205South Lyon, MI467 contributionsYou don't exactly think visiting a church while in Costa Rica. It's all about the beaches. But if you are like us, among the Christian faithful, or you just appreciate beautiful architecture, you should go. In addition to the simplicity of it's design the sense of reverence is profound. It is serene. And you will need all of that serenity to recovery from the Limon traffic and to prepare for your drive back. It is certainly worth the effort. There is an open gate to get into the grounds (which are beautiful) and into the church. You can park inside the gate or on the street.Written February 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chickandbeastSouthgate, Canada8,686 contributionsStopped on this beautiful beach to have a picnic. Very natural easy to park on the side of the road. - Duane and Julie RetiredOlive Hill, KY56 contributionsIf you are close by the port walking along the seawall you will run into this park. Few nice pieces of art in the park which was clean when we were there. Some local vendors. Once walk thru the park will come to a wide road with more art work and plenty of shopping along the road and down the alleys, road is closed to traffic. Christmas tree is up. Best and safest place to walk in limon in my opinion. Lots of fresh shrimp for sale.Written December 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sheetdmMaryland5 contributionsHad a wonderful time! As a smoker it was irritating though since there were only a couple places to smoke in each park. I understand there is no more smoking inside the park now at all. Fast passes helped with the crowds. Bring lots of money as it is expensive. We stayed off the grounds at the beautiful Sheraton Vistana Resort. Accommodations were great!Written May 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
