What a fabulous morning. Glenda showed us around her families ecologically managed farm introducing us to all sorts of fruit & produce including heirloom varieties such as white pineapple and the nicest papaya I have tasted yet. She was knowledgeable, humorous and patiently answered our questions and her English was very good.
The cocoa production was fascinating and the fruit and chocolate drink delicious, the face mask was lovely, I believe I look at least ten years younger😂 We did not have time to stay fir lunch but it looked really good, I wish things had been different for us!

My family did the 14 mile Corcovado hike from Sirena to Carate with Gerson and Fabi. Gerson was both knowledgeable about the wildlife that we found and personally engaging about his life in Costa Rica. He was especially patient with our 6 year old and gave him plenty of rest breaks during the hike. Fabi was also excellent. She has a keen eye for wildlife and spotted several monkeys and an anteater that the group would have passed by without her aid. Rainforrest Chronicles went above and beyond during our Corcovado hike.

Stunning little town 'in the back of beyond'. A piece if paradise nested away in the Golfo Dulce.

Puerto Jimenez is surrounded by rainforest and beaches, has an abundance of charm and would make an ideal base to explore.

Well worth a look when in Costa Rica. A great example of a well managed very clean town with lots of activities for those looking for experience or a place to hide and write your book.

This was a very unique tour on a small family owned chocolate business. We started by learning about cacao from the fruit to the finished chocolate product then we began making chocolate from start to finish. We had an opportunity to receive chocolate face masks and eat fresh chocolate fondue with fruit. There’s also an opportunity to buy chocolate products at the end. This is a must on your Costa Rican vacation!

This is a beautiful beach with clean water and strong waves. You have to be careful as the current can also take you out to see. Is was deserted and very quiet and relaxing. The water was very refreshing after a long hike.

This is a friendly welcoming store with locally made products. I bought some jewellery made with bird feathers, set -I think - in resin. There were also wooden and stone and painted art. Local food and drink included honey, chocolate, spicy relishes etc. lots of local affordable goods to support local producers

We attended the local farmers market on Saturday (starts at 11am). It was an event full of friendly people, tasty fresh and local vegetables and also beautiful handicrafts. It is the only place we found in Puerto Jiménez that we could buy fruit and vegetables directly to the farmers that grew them. Just for the atmosphere in the market and the local food that was sold on site made it worth a visit. There is also local organic cacao, coffee, kombucha, bread, coconut milk, dairy products and more! We would definitely go back if we ever return to the Osa Peninsula.

Went looking for it based on the Google maps location, but there's just a track leading off the dirt road, in a semi-cultivated area. Couldn't find a sign or a reception facility, and website not operational. Left us a little confused - maybe the location is wrong on Google Maps?

I truly felt gifted to come across Body mind Soul. I met with Dani two different times. The first experience was just amazing. I was more relaxed than I have been in years. The second time I saw her she worked on an old back injury, and was able to give me some relief I have not had in years. I highly recommend her services.

My son and I hiked from Los Patos to Sirena, stayed two nights at the station, then took the boat out, organized and led by Surcos tours. Nito was our guide for our last day in the park, and he was amazing! If you get a chance to do a tour with him, jump at it! I have been lucky enough to do quite a few wildlife tours, and while they are always interesting, they can sometimes be quite serious and solemn affairs. With Nito, we saw an amazing variety of wildlife and learned a ton about it, but also had a tremendous amount of fun. Nito is a Costa Rican TikTok star (he posts wildlife videos), and we could really see why! The most exciting part was when we heard monkeys making alarm calls, and Nito thought they were yelling at a big cat. We homed in on the noise, but no one could see anything. Then another woman in our group pointed out that there was a puma in a tree right above us--so cool!

For the first two days, our guide was Esteban, who was also great. He did a wonderful job setting a comfortable pace on the hike and keeping us motivated, while spotting wildlife along the way. When I read the Tripadvisor reviews of the hike, I was doubtful about whether I'd be able to do it--I'm 50 years old, in reasonable but not "let's run a half marathon!" shape. In the end I didn't find it bad at all, I think because my son and I had done a couple of shorter hikes over the previous two days. Those were at La Tarde, and were very steep and hot. The trail from Los Patos is less steep and better maintained, so it felt much easier even though it was longer. The jungle hiking seems to me a little like mountaineering--you might need some time to acclimatize. For my son and me, the heat and humidity were a real shock at first, but by the time we did the long hike, we'd gotten used to them. Just know you are going to be soaking wet no matter what you wear, and bring the recommended amount of water.
