The tour was wonderful, we cannot recommend enough. Oliver took care of us and made sure we were where we needed to be at the right times. It is very well organized, the food was great and plenty. We did the Tortuguero National Park Tour which is stunning, we saw monkeys, sloths, many birds and also cayman. The guides really take their time to help locate the wildlife for viewing.

We did the turtles which I recommend as a once in a lifetime thing. We were very lucky and saw babies running to the sea and a mama laying her eggs and burying them and another mama going back out to sea after she was done , it was magical! It’s a separate tour that you book at the hotel when you are there.

We stayed at Pachira Lodge which is beautiful. I was most impressed by how all the tour companies and the hotels worked together . The windows of the huts are only screened, they are small and close together. So not much privacy if that’s your thing . Very cute and well designed which is what I noticed ! No air conditioning as you are really in the rain forest, but it felt fine it’s an adventure! Lots of wildlife around the hotel grounds which is part of the tour also. There was a large sloth 2 huts down which was a treat!

    All was wonderful ♥️🇨🇷

Fascinating & FUN! Arenal, and Baldí together offer many options for recreation, and are so beautiful as well! I will want to return with friends soon - YES!

I loved the central market! What a fascinating experience. I only wish we had more time to spend there. The gold museum was beautiful and interesting and the lunch was delicious. Learning about the history of the country was so educational and I just can’t say enough about this tour. Jordan was a fantastic tour guide, and I would highly recommend any tourist take this tour. You won’t regret it!

This trip was absolutely beautiful and my family and I genuinely enjoyed the vacation. Costa Rica is such a beautiful country and this tour truly helps you experience and take in every bit of it. It was definitely worth it and was the best trip I have ever taken!

I planned on doing the tour on short notice and the team around Oldemar (one of the few tour companies that has offers for solo-travelers) replied swiftly and worked on my booking. However, my plans changed and even then I was met with understanding and excellent customer service. Thank you again for your understanding!

Andrew is such a good guide. This is an easy walk through the city with Andrew explaining history, architecture and art. It rained but not a lot. We finished with a lovely meal.

A colleague and I were in Costa Rica for work and had a free afternoon/evening, so we booked the dinner version of this half-day trip. I really liked this whirlwind trip through San Jose. It covered a HUGE amount of stuff in a very short time and I learned a ton about the history of Costa Rica. Our guide Sergio was awesome, and the singer on our bus had a beautiful voice.

Someone in another review was cranky about the first stop at the old airport but it was great. It's a national gallery now and had some amazing art from Costa Rican artist, really interesting variety of paintings particularly. I loved it.

The jewelry place was a little odd, but the video they showed about how the indigenous people used to cast gold was really interesting and, again, there was lots of great art for sale done by local artists. Beautiful paintings, carvings, sculptures, and if I'd been willing to pay for shipping stuff back to the US, I would have purchased art there.

The trip through the market was great, so much to see and do. The Cathedral was really beautiful, and the National Theater was as well. It would have been nice to have been able to go inside the theater auditorium itself, but we were unable to.

Finally, they took us to a cute little restaurant for dinner, which was very pleasant. All in all, a good afternoon and evening, despite the rain.

Excellent trip to an incredible summit. The guide was very friendly, informative and really made the experience. Very much recommended as a rewarding day visit from San Jose. Ensure you follow in the afternoon with a further visit to La Paz waterfalls and animal sanctuary. This wasn’t offered when booking first on trip advisor but the guides helpfully added this to our trip. I would definitely recommend the full day rather than the half day.

Our guide is called Alejandro and is one of the best, he knows very well the place, its history and all the places where you can go during this trip, although it is only half a day I enjoyed it too much, the place is cold but beautiful, it has a lot of vegetation of course it is a volcano.
They took us to eat at a place where you can leave a souvenir, on a piece of paper saying where you visit, the one I left says Costa Rica is the best traveler HY1897! if you find it I will give you 5 dollars ..... jijijijijijiji.

This place is absolutely amazing... Our party of 25 had reserved and upon arrival we were given bracelets, a map, and our guide began the tour. You go through a bunch of different sections where you see sloths, monkeys, wild cats, butrerflies, toucans, and other birds.. Lots of staff around to provide plenty of information. There is a little hut or home to show you what life was like years ago, and you get a taste of the sugar cane, cheese and tortilla. The walk around the waterfalls is a bit strenuous but very manageable. They are absolutely magnificent, refreshing, just lovely. There is a restaurant with an all inclusive buffet, with pizza, salad bar, local dishes, fresh fruit and 1 dessert. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Gift shops, restrooms, etc... The ride was a bit long to get there, but totally worth it!!!

Our guide was Manuel B.—very friendly and kind soul. We improvised a bit since my husband and I had come in on a red eye and were exhausted: we needed a low-key day and we’re planning to stay in Monteverde rather than returning back to San Jose. We went on backroads to avoid traffic and drove past smaller towns and hillsides as we asked him more about what it was like to live here, and learned more about Costa Rica culture. Our first stop was to Puntarenas to see the ocean and cool our feet in the water. He found us some coconuts and we had a refreshing drink before driving up to Monteverde. Here we had a wonderful leisurely meal at the Open Kitchen cafe and went to the beautiful and charming Butterfly refuge. Wanting to get back to the hotel for dinner, we made a last stop at the coffee shop at the Monteverde cloud forest preserve. We sat on the porch at the café and listened to and watched multiple hummingbirds feeding. So peaceful and thrilling for us. Bird sounds filled the air. Then back to our hotel. Lovely personalized day! Manuel is a genuine and generous person and we glad to have met him. Wonderful experience!
