The stops for drinks and food were amazing and Jorge made sure to check that my wife’s gluten allergy would not be a problem. Rolpho, the guitar player, was cute and entertaining, and we especially enjoyed our time in the central market, cathedral, theater, and national park. The tour guide’s historical description of the National monument was excellent. I was misled by the description of the tour in advance that we were going to the museum. We just drove by. Also, as another review mentioned, we would have loved more time in the market to browse and shop. And my daughter was especially eager to see the actual theater as opposed to just the lobby, but you needed a special guid to get in to see more of the National Theater. The dinner was a good typical Costa Rican fare though my family especially enjoyed the breaded fish (Sea Bass.) He started off by sharing a local fruit (mamon chino) which was great way to greet us. He answered all of our questions and was very well informed. We stopped for coffee/juice at this great little courtyard to break up all the walking at perfect time. - Jamie H12 contributionsFor first part of trip, the Irazu Volcano was nice view of the crater. The lady of the angels church was very beautiful and appreciated that when asked questions the guide was very informative.
The Lankester gardens were really pretty and the place was really well taken care of. The gardens made the trip well worth it.
My favorite part was La Ceiba restaurant which was amazing. The food was tasty and presentation was delightful.

We met up by the green statues, toured the market, had different types of fruit, ate tamales, made an empanada as well as ate famous ice cream. The snacks, the laughs, the information made this tour so enjoyable. The theater was beautiful and the architecture of the church only added to how awesome this tour was. - Dougal KTampa, FL2 contributionsThe trail hike to the falls was fairly moderate in intensity and the guide encouraged us to go at our most comfertable pace. She would stop and rest with us when needed. She pointed out different flora unique to the area and any animals we were lucky to view. The steps leading down to the falls were easily managed going down or coming up. Those who didn't want to go to the base level were still able to get a good view of the falls from above. I will suggest getting there early because the humidity increases significantly at midday which would make the trek more difficult. Our guide, driver and cantador provided us us with sites, songs and great food as we toured the art museum, central market, church and national theater. Rather than you driving and parking five or six times, let VIP take care of the details. You enjoy the scenery and friendly people of San Jose. Enjoy the market and it's energy, the sacred nature of the cathedral and the lovely theatre all wrapped into the intriguing history of Costa Rico. Finish off with a savory dinner that vompletes your day. Thank you for a wonderful tour.
