There are only two tours per day in English and both are in the afternoon which is a shame. We went on the Spanish tour as this was the only way we would get to see inside the building. It is very beautiful and worth the visit. The guides were very enthusiastic. Shame we could not understand.

A very interesting museum in San Jose which tell the history and culture of pre-Columbian people in the area through their artistry with metals, particularly gold. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the museum.

Colourful place, ideal for people watching, grabbing some snack, have lunch, or just enjoying this busy highlight in the center of San José.

A beautiful oasis of tranquility in San Jose with the optional walk down to the river an unexpected bonus. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

This park offers some greenery, statues and art.

The main attraction is a famous statue of Costa Ricans driving out an American imperialist.

This is an adventure park with a purpose. The park's motto is "healthy children help sick children". Costa Rica´s Children´s Hospital is financed by the profits of this park. So if you visit, you enjoy and leave a bit of your money for this excellent institution.

My children and I (8 and 10 years old) took a day trip here from Orosi and it surpassed my expectations! The hiking trails were challenging, but fun, and beautiful. The lookout of the valley and volcanos (if the clouds clear) was gorgeous. We felt secluded and that we could really enjoy the rainforest around us, as there were few people that we met on the trail (and it was a Saturday). Crossing the small streams was fun for us all, and the waterfalls truly were beautiful. Completely recommend for a visit. We spent about 3 hours there, and hiked three of the trails. You actually have to "hike up" to the lookout and beginning of the trails. They offer walking sticks at the bottom - get them! Very helpful, especially for the muddy trail and crossing the streams.

Best surprise of all......we saw a quetzal!!! Such an amazing experience and lifetime memory!

We were staying in Sarapiqui and so we joined up with an existing group of tourists who had begun their day in San Jose purely to do the boat trip and have lunch.
We arrived at the starting point of the boat trip slightly early but Pedro made us very welcome offering us fresh fruit. He didn’t speak English and for the first time on our holiday I felt awful that I couldn’t communicate with him as he seemed such a friendly man.
Once Jorge turned up with his group of six we were underway with Pedro navigating the boat through the low water levels of the river and spitting wildlife whilst Jorge gave excellent commentary in English. We found the trip relaxing and informative. We were lucky to get to photograph a troop of howler monkeys complete with babies, crocodiles that seemed to approach the boat with interest, a line up of black vultures on a riverside log along with many other birds and the odd iguana.
We then moored at a local finca where a late lunch was served. Traditional buffet style but a lot fresher than we had seen elsewhere and we also got to have a stroll with Jorge around the garden to see some of the many fruits and flowers etc being grown there.
We had to return to our starting point by mini bus as the river level is so low it would have been dangerous for Pedro to take us back on the boat.
Jorge was courteous enough to wait for our transport to arrive before leaving with the group for San Jose which impressed us.
    Overall a lovely afternoon out.

Eco Drivers CR is simply the BEST!! Our driver Coco went above and beyond!

He kept in contact through WhatsApp before our trip and entertained all of our endless questions. He responded in a timely manner even with the time differences. Coco is not only our driver but also our Costa Rican guru. He knew all of the best spots, restaurants, tours, and activities in the area. He made sure we had the best use of our time and that we had the best experience. He gave us the most outstanding recommendations that elevated our Costa Rica trip.

Upon meeting him in person, he showed nothing but kindness and professionalism. Coco is very experienced and he knows the road very well. He drove us through the area safely and smoothly without using maps or gps. He had to drive us through the cloud Forrest at night. I was so thankful to have him there since I don’t believe I would have been able to drive out of there alive. Coco’s night vision is excellent!

You can tell how he really cares for his passengers. At one tour, he waited for us at the end of the trail to save us the trouble of waiting for the shuttle back or climbing the stairs back out. When I needed to use the loo, he made sure to look for a place to stop for a quick break. He drove us to restaurants and souvenir shops. He completed tasks that aren’t even a driver’s job! This happened when my friend wanted to buy an extra Ground coffee for a souvenir. We went on a coffee tour the day before and it wasn’t until the day after that she realized she wanted one extra. She messaged Coco to ask for a favor. We thought maybe it’ll be too much of a task. But alas! Coco saved the day and got her that one particular coffee.

Overall, I highly recommend Eco Drivers CR!

We used their services 2 times during our stay in Costa Rica. Tamarindo to Manuel Antonio and then to San Jose. A big shout out to J.P. and "Michael" to making our transport so easy and enjoyable! Great conversations, learned so much about their beautiful country, and they showed us interesting sites along the way. Best team and highly recommend.
