Beautiful views of the mountains and Mekong river . Brief visit to the viewpoint , 40thb to be driven by kindly fellow to the viewing area . Pleasant little excursion , the hills and mountains seem to stretch for miles , it would be beautiful with mist rising .

This is a nice hike that isn't too difficult with nice paved pathways for most of the trail. Bring plenty of water.

After being closed for about a year for a much needed makeover, Phu Bo Bit has reopened. The new pathway is very nice and in addition is well lit if you are going up for the sunrise or coming down after sunset. The view in all directions is incredible. The climb is not too difficult, but it will get your heart pumping. Reaching the summit is well worth it. We enjoyed a lunar eclipse on the night of Loy Krathong from one of the best viewpoints in Mueang Loei.

We were expecting something more modern.
The whole place seemed to be deserted at first.
Maybe a good location to shoot a thriller.
There was only a small shop, and we could only taste two of the 10 wines available in the shop.

I went there because I want to old photos of our beloved King and Queen when they visited Loei province 60 years ago. Before this place was renovated into the museum, it used to be the place where the king and the queen stay during their visit. Almost all of information about Loei province provide in Thai. So if you are foreigners and don't mind to just come and see some photos and dresses of tribal people, this museum is still worth to come. There is air conditioner in the museum. But If you can read Thai, I recommend this museum. I got lots of more info that I haven't known before from here.

MaLoei is situated on the grounds of Loei University, if you come by car or bicycle, the entrance is one little street left off the highway just before the big entrance to the university.
Actually the museum was under restoration and closed. But when we asked in the downstairs office, a nice guy opened up the whole museum for us, switched on lights and air condition - amazing Thailand!
The museum has a lot to offer, from Loei at the time of the dinosaurs to modern art, but most interesting historical artefacts and explanations. In any case worth a visit.
Good and clean toilets with funny - Pithakhon - signs.
    CLOSED MONDAYS and TUESDAYS.

This is a very local spa/massage centre, operate by the locals.

The ambient is just as homey as it can get. No fancy decoration, not much privacy as locals can be talking to each other while doign the massage! But it's all okay, everyone is so friendly, sincere and original.

The Thai massage is different from other places in Thailand which we tried before. Really special and relaxing. The price is so reasonable as it is not spoiled by the tourism (yet?).

Enjoyed a very pleasant cycle along the river and through the quiet villages to the weaving compound.

There were 4 to 5 ladies working at looms to look at.

There is an onsite shop with quite a bit of stock on hand for sale.

I did not enquire regards price as the only material that caught my eye was nylon in construction as is the majority of things claimed to be cotton in many parts of the world.

It may help to search for Klangpla as one word to find the village.
