What travellers are saying
- Gerry TMinneapolis, MN49 contributionsWe had heard the opera house in Buenas Aires was not to be missed. There were no performances while we were visiting but we did go on a tour of the building. It is ranked as one of the best Opera houses in the world. It was well worth the price of the tour and became one of our Buenos Aires highlights. We really want to come back to see a production. It is the quintessential Opera house and so well preserved!Written March 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavidSLondon, UK31 contributionsInteresting, fairly trendy district of Buenos Aires. Some nice cafés, bars and restaurants. Easily walkable from the centre but regular hop-on hop-off tour buses also stop here.Written February 8, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PavelHong Kong, China9 contributionsAn absolute gem in Buenos Aires and South America as a whole. Amazing restaurants, fantastic Air Bnb’s, everywhere you look the apartment lobbies are super clean and tasteful with an overall very safe family environment. Big supermarket (Coto) and several nice gelato / alfajor cafes (Lucciano’s and Rapanui).
A European city architecture but with South American hospitality and flair.
For most good restaurants (El Burladero and La Roux) make sure you reserve about a day in advance. But be aware this is probably one of the more upscale and expensive areas for eating out and staying - totally worth it though. For alternatives also check out Palermo.Written January 13, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The tickets aren’t cheap—around 17 USD (approximately 17,620 ARS). This is quite high for this type of attraction, especially in Argentina. At the entrance, you'll receive a basic free map for a self-guided tour. Of course, the main highlight is the burial vault of Evita (Eva Perón), but there are many other beautiful tombs to see. Some are in poor condition, while others have been restored. It's a pleasant place to stroll around and admire funerary art. It's definitely worth the visit, and also adjacent is the Basilica Nuestra Señora del Pilar.Written March 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Birgitta-KennethSolna, Sweden1,655 contributionsAfter being in Japan during the cherry blossom season last year and visiting numerous gardens it was a surprise to find one in BA but its well kept and really niceWritten January 22, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 6jasHayling Island, UK32 contributionsSet in an interesting modern building with escalators to the 2 upper floors. A sizable collection of art, much of it unfamiliar to me but with useful details, in English, beside each exhibit. Quite a few video exhibits, not very appealing to me; some looked a bit like Minecraft! But then what do I know? Seniors get in half price and it was worth the 90mins we spent there.Written February 22, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dcrow1970Dallas, TX122 contributionsSuch a beautiful park right in city. I found this by accident. Because it’s winter now everything was cut down.you can already see them all growing for the spring. The maintenance workers were working their magic and everything is growing and just as beautiful. The park also has a night light show I saw advertisedWritten August 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands6,751 contributionsCaminito is a short 130m long alley with colourful houses in La Boca neighborhood, where the Matanza river joins the Rio de La Plata. Traditionally this an immigrant quarter, where Italians from Genoa settled. Rather neglected, but since 1950 revived by local painters and artists.
Caminito is now a tourist highlight and on the itinerary of many tour companies. Despite that, it is interesting to visit and observe the creativity of local people who with scarce resources built atonishing almost theatrical stages.Written December 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
