Overall, fairly large plenty of room, not too crowded and if he didn’t want to hang out in the sand, there is tons of shopping right next-door that you can walk to and we have some free toilets

Nazare is known for its massive waves and small museum with lighthouse is the best place to see those. It's walkable from O Sitio main square to there, but coming back upwards on hot day is a bit struggle...although there are kiosks and food trucks for refreshments. They also have tuk tuk's and other small shuttles, if you are too tired to walk. Otherwise O Sitio area offers great views towards Nazare City and long beautiful beach. So take a cable car or one of their cheap taxis and have a lunch in that old area

Stunning views, worth driving or taxi up as the funicular is not operating. Perfect photo opportunity. Nice to get the whole picture of Nazare as it’s an enormous beach

I’d wanted to visit Nazare ever since watching ‘100 foot wave’. Go to this area of Nazare as opposed to the beach. Here you can see beautiful views over the beach and ocean. Then walk to the lighthouse area…it was extremely windy when we entered so hold onto your hat! You pay €2 to enter the lighthouse area but definitely worth it. The views of the beach, the waves and out to sea are brilliant. Walk back up or take a little taxi car. Lots of lovely souvenir shops and cafes to choose from on Nazare. The staff were friendly and welcoming and not pushy. Well worth a visit!

Tyler churches go. It was more in the average side but I would say if you’re in the town it’s worth stopping probably five or 10 minutes is all you need unless you want to go up behind the altar then about another 10 minutes

A good walk from Nazare out of town and through some nice pine forest. The climb up is short but steep and you will need to be reasonably fit to do it. It is steps all the way to the top. The view on a clear day is great. The actual lookout tower is locked but you get the same view from the cross.

Make sure that you have a visit here!

The fruit and vegetables are a reasonable price and there is a lovely variety.

The bread variety is extensive and they taste beautiful.

You will also find cheeses, meats and nuts.

Upstairs you will find the seafood section.

There are a few cafes in the market which have nice coffee, pastries, etc.

The toilets are free! They are next to the seafood section.

We eat our way around the market for about €10.

    Well worth the visit

Located half way on the steep path between "O Sitio" and the Lighthouse (Fort) . A modern version artistic version of an old local legend .

Located at the south corner of "O Sitio" square , adjacent to the observation point/terrace , this 12th Cent. built tiny chapel is of great importance to the history and people of Nazare . Worth a visit .

This little gem is easy missed, because of the breathtaking views of Nazaré outside of this chapel.
Inside, it is a lovely little chapel with a staircase down.

Fantastically helpful staff, who speak excellent English.
Some fine paintings by French artist Paul Girol, and models of the fishing boats.

This lovely little store around the central square had a great selection of souvenirs on offer including lovely art cards, clothes and cork products. Great service in here!
