Absolute gem of a place. Firstly it was so nice to be able to take our dog into the priory and surrounding walk. Parking was excellent onsite by the shop, wonderful customer service from the lady who went out of her way to tell us about the priory it's buildings and advice on a walk to a stream.

It's a lovely walk and is exposed to the elements, so if like us, it was a lovely hot sunny day, make sure you wear a hat! Lots of pockets of space for picnics which I think would be something I would of done as the views are perfect.

After our walk we then took the trail thru the fields towards the church and pub.

It's worth the price as the upkeep of the grounds, though if you are a English Heritage member you get in for free.

A very pleasant area overlooking the water with a lot of history. We lingered around for quite a while before going along the river.

First time to visit Kings Lynn and having parked in the multi storey in the centre and walked through what passes as a shopping centre I didn’t think it had much going for it, until I got to here. The Old Town and the Quays is definitely the most picturesque part of town and contains some fine historical buildings, such as this one and The Minster opposite.
This fine stone building originates from the 1400’s and has had various uses over the years and multiple visits from reigning monarchs. The former gaol house is now home to the tourist information centre and the History of Kings Lynn museum.

Its an impressive intact 15th century gateway that you can drive through on your way into the town. Well worth a photo stop.

My second visit to this hotel and the standard is still as high as I remembered. . Very nice twin bedroom. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas. Fixed menu as on a coach trip but very good.

I visited here on an excellent Guided Walking Tour ( thanks Alison , you were brilliant !) So, she explained all about the origins of The Minster and its associated Priory. I think they would be very easy to miss otherwise -which would be a pity !

Beautiful building with a fascinating history. We were greeted by knowledgeable and friendly volunteers and handed a leaflet which pointed out some of the many features of interest. Well worth a visit.
