- Jonathan DNorwich, UK203 contributionsI was given a guided photo afternoon as a birthday present, so I didn't know what to expect, but what a wonderful place!
There is a reception hut where you can buy warm drinks (tea, coffee etc), and snacks (crisps, ice cream and biscuits). The welcome was efficient but friendly.
For this particular 'experience,' a little truck pulls a roofed trailer around the 170 acres of land, stopping at various places to photograph the animals. The guide was very knowledgeable and would answer any questions. There was a walkie-talkie on the trailer so we could hear as we were going around.
As with any wildlife park, it can be a bit hit-or-miss as to which animals and birds decide to come out into the open, but there was certainly time (3 hours) and enough animals to see. At each stop, we were given plenty of time to get out to photograph the animals. Our group saw a lot!
I would love to go again soon!
*Technical note - photographers: A 80-200 zoom lens, or similar is plenty as animals weren't shy, and several came close to the trailer.Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lucky enough to see a stonechat and cotton grass.Written June 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

There are even some lovely benches dotted about and some dedicated pathways which is quite nice to see that it is properly maintained and looked after. I enjoy coming here with my partner or even with family or sometimes just by myself.Written August 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarketaMarkPhiladelphia, PA3 contributionsScolt Head Island is a magnificent location. The number of people visiting, although high, is limited due to the island's adventurous access. One can only visit by walking through marsh lands, crossing channels, and via a small ferry boat. The visit is also restricted by the tides. At low tide the ferry does not operate due to a lack of water, hence the walking part. Once on the island you will find over two miles of unspoiled beach with large dunes. Great place to explore with little ones and just by your lonesome. My daughter especially loved marching through the shallow sea to the sand bars just a short walk from the beach - low tide only. It was a great adventure and worth every moment.Written August 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
