A very lovely beach . Ample parking (pay and display) just behind the beach. Dogs are allowed but only to the left of the beach. There’s a working RNLI station just over the road . It’s very nice here, not as expansive as Harlech but still great with easy access to all the facilities of the town

Amazing walk over the Barmouth bridge and then a saunter through town. An excellent way to spend the day.
Ate at a sandwiches place near the amusement rides, good healthy food… but then pigged out on a four bag of hot donuts dipped in sugar. Delicious.

The harbour is at the mouth of the estuary close to the beach. Great views of the mountains and the long railway bridge spanning the water.

We walked the Trail hoping to get a chance for a really good view of the Estuary and we weren't disappointed. Very warm weather and dry so good underfoot but also a little strenuous. We would recommend the walk as it's fairly simple navigation and well worth it.

Wonderful boat trip around the Mawddoch estuary and out to sea a bit. An hour long. John, who did all the clever stuff to keep the boat moving, kindly helped my eighty nine year old mum on and off the boat in safety. He told us all about the shore and marine wildlife and the history of the area. There was no question he couldn't answer. A born teacher. Barmouth is a beautiful holiday destination and if you go there, I suggest you check out Emily's Ferries and if you find John you have truly struck gold. They also do a ferry that connects with the Fairbourne narrow gauge steam railway, though I gather there is a bit of a trek across the sand dunes once the ferry deposits you as close as it can get. Who wants to go abroad when we have Wales and the like?

Walked the southern section, from Talybont to Barmouth and have to say, you'd be hard pushed to find fault with the views on offer. With far reaching views, from Snowdon to the north, Cader Idris in the south, the views are simply stunning, breathtaking even! Mountains, valleys, coastlines, beaches, estuaries, forests, lakes, babbling brooks, rivers, streams and to top it all off, Red Kites circling up above. Wow! A word of warning tho, it can be a bit boggy in places and it's not the best marked out path, but nothing that even the most inexperienced of walkers couldn't overcome. Go walk it, you won't be disappointed!

How cute is this. We almost missed it as it's slightly set back from the beach.
Nice little piece of history to go and look at :)

We explored the heritage trail, but the path up the hillside is quite hard to follow, with no waymarking, and steep. But worth it!

If you don't fancy The Last Haul Sculpture at the bottom of the harbour, then this pleasing statue of dolphins may be more to your taste. There are information boards giving details about the dolphins. It is also a water feature but, unfortuantely, on the day we were there, there was no water.
