This was actually really fun. The food wasn’t very good but the staff were lovely and I loved being able to try a Yukon beer. The museum was pretty cool but obviously the highlight was the petting zoo. It wasn’t very busy so we were able to play with the puppies. The horse and the pony attacked my sweater.

What a fun stop!! Yes, it is the smallest desert in the world but a great stop along a very scenic route. It is just outside Carcross and goodness what a beautiful trip it is!!

Definitely one of my favourite places in the Yukon. We originally went through Carcross on a cloudy day but came back with clear skies. The blue skies make all the difference. You could see the beautiful mountains in the background, very picturesque. Would definitely come back!

We wandered in to say hello, planning to walk down the street to find the walking trails behind the school like our tourist brochure suggested. Then Elke called out to us from behind the counter, asking if she could help. We said we liked to hike, we could handle a challenge, including uneven terrain, some scree and a certain steepness, although we could not “climb.” We said we were looking for a 4-5 hour hike. Elsie listened to us, asked insightful questions and suggested Caribou Mountain. She stepped outside with us, pointed out the peak and gave us VERY helpful tips to find the trailhead. We left with some written directions and a sense of purpose. The hike was PERFECT—challenging but so rewarding—and we never would have found it without Elke. This was the perfect tourist service.

It consists of a group of small buildings housing retailers selling stuff to tourists. Many indigenous-made items. Not bad for what it is. There's even a psychic and tarot card reader.

The historic train ride from Fraser BC to Skagway, USA is stunning with spectacular scenery through the Scenic Journey of the White Pass Yukon Route. This historic train ride is not to be missed!

My wife and I recently visited the Yukon with friends while on a cruise tour in Alaska. While there, we were on a tour that took us to Carcross and we visited the Historic Post Office. This is a very interesting old time building. We enjoyed our visit.

A Vimeo film called “Shift” will tell you the story of how these trails have been developed. And once you are sold on riding them, you won’t be disappointed! Fabulous single track trails that are very nicely designed. Some awesome banked corners, wooden features and views. Definitely recommend shuttling up because the climb on the road is not much fun. If you need to rent, you can book with Icycle on-line. If you are riding up, jump into the trails at the mid-point to have some fun. Even the green trails have some fun jumps that can be rolled. We rode to Nares View and it was exhausting. A great afternoon non-the-less!

A quick and enjoyable way to see some local art and find information about the area. Very helpful young lady was on staff to help answer questions.

Beautiful. A historic monument (although rebuilt from original) that gives a sense of the past in this place, as well as highlights local First Nations art and culture.

This church is right at the entrance to town. Although this structure was built in 1904, the first Anglican church was built here in 1901 and there was also services in a tent. A sign near the front tells the history of the church. Inside it is small and quaint.

Haven’t been here in a dozen years but have definitely seen a drastic decline in the maintenance to the point where it’s now falling down which is really too bad.Still a very beautiful setting it’s worth it for the picture taking moments.
