Muir Beach is fantastic and seems like a hidden gem as its just outside of San Fran. We came here after visiting the red wood Forrest to catch the sunset. The parking is a bit hard to get but well worth waiting as this beach is great. I counted at least 15 small campfires with each of the groups having fun and enjoying the beach and the water. But the sunset here is just amazing. Would love to come back here if my travels bring me back to San Francisco.

First and foremost, if you've got a fear of heights, I would not recommend this!

Now you'll be thinking why did I do this if I've got a fear of heights?

Honestly, I can't even answer that myself. But this was probably, if not, the most intense and challenging thing I've done.

Now it may sound simple but going across a walkway that has only steps and a wooden fence either side of a very far and steep fall, is just plain petrifying.

But some aura washed over me and I went I went to get to the end, so with some very tender steps and pausing as other onlookers came back, eventually I reached the end. The view itself? Stunning!

I loved the farm, you can walk through it, on the way to the beach. In summer they sell produce, and you can admire the flowers. I loved the numerous benches and Buddha statues - beautiful and relaxing walk!

Slide Ranch is a sensational cross between petting zoo, working farm and California coastal vista & trails.  Primarily a hit for parents of 1-3 year-olds with the occasional grandparent like me.  Goats, chickens, ducks, vegetable garden, face painting, storytelling, a wood chip covetrd hillside which doubles as wedding locale with great view of rocks and ocean. My grandson especially loved an anemometer which spun with the wind and a redwood tree which he could play hide & week in.  Cool morning!  GREAT young staff/residents. They went out of their way to help with mobility & access issues.
