Great shopping for clothes, souvenirs, and home goods. Lots of places to stop for a drink or snack or a great dinner. No need to dress fancy.

access in Breckenridge and the road does become gravel and slow going, but it is beautiful if you're looking for great scenery. We clicked a pic at the Continental Divide sign. Follow the road and end back up in Fairplay and then stop at gorgeous Hoosier's pass on the way back north to Breckenridge.

We hiked this on our first trip to Co in 2019 and it is our favorite trail we've done in CO. Great views and actually requires some effort.

Sapphire Point is easily accessible from Swan Mountain Road with a pull off parking area near the trailhead. Facilities are available there as well. The trail has spectacular views with Lake Dillion and the mountains in the backdrop. The trail is easily negotiated with some resting areas with table along the way. We did the trail in both directions to enjoy the views each way. The friendly chipmunks add a bit of entertainment to the trail. No fee required.

we were in Breckenridge and Vail is an easy 40 minute drive. Fun to see, rode the Gondolas at Vail village and Lions-head village (same ticket)--takes you up ~ 2000 ft more. Great views and hiking at the top along with bikes available to ride up or just down the mountain

Very good place for outdoor activities. There is plenty of activities to do in any season. They offer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter and very cozy lodge to warm up after...

Help. Flying to Breckenridge April 17th with family from florida. Beginner / intermediate skiers. Was planning on staying at a resort in Peak 9 but now hearing the lift there shuts down for skiing in April ? Any advice or suggestions ? Is peak 8 a good alternative? I think they have lifts open thru April. Any resorts ski in/out at peak 8? Thanks. First time ever going to Breckenridge and need any help we can get. Thank you.

So, hey, I know it’s a ski destination, but the knees aren’t what they used to be! Who doesn’t love to sled! The walk there was cool, seeing the quaint homes as well as those not so quaint! Don’t set yourself up for disappointment, it’s a public park! No lifts, but little to no lines either, at least while we were there. Free sleds(plastic w some plastic discs as well) first come first serve, but nobody went without! Yes, I said FREE! Great for kids, certainly, but everyone in our group 20’s to knockin’ on the door 60, had a ball!

Our guide was fantastic. It was a very thorough tour and answered all our questions. He was so friendly and we got to keep our little engraved tasting glasses. Tasty whiskey too. Highly recommend!!

We finally crossed a “14er” off our list with this hike! Very fun, accessible, and direct. I liked the parking reservation system - not having to worry about a parking spot was a relief, and it’s obvious the support goes back to the trail - very well maintained. We left the lot early (5:00 am) and had the ascent and peak to ourselves - gorgeous sunrise too! It took us 2.5 hours up and perhaps 1.5 down, moving fairly continuously. If our timeline had allowed I’d have likes to have more than a day to acclimate before climbing this - the altitude was humbling. There are 2 we’ll maintained outhouses at the parking lot. Be advised, there is a disgruntled land owner immediately adjacent to the lot with numerous aggressive, and borderline vulgar, signs posted on his land asserting his dislike of the the community parking area - it definitely made us double check that our car doors were locked!

Another good facility to accommodate the skiers' delights. Easy, fast, and convenient lifts to take you to the top or transition to the other peaks in the area.

Stopped into the Welcome Center while exploring Main Street in Breckenridge. Cute little museum with history of the gold era and lots of artifacts to see. Upstairs was the ski part of the museun. Friendly staff. Beautifully decorated with lights for the Holidays outside. Signage outside to read also.

Read the road was closed to this so we were going to Lower McGullough Gulch. When we got to the road for that it was closed (I THINK only for two weeks M-TH) so decided to drive ahead and see if the road ahead was open and it was (all in the same area). Super bumpy road as you have read. We had a Tahoe so were fine but did see smaller cars not 4 wheel drive that had made it just fine. Just GO SLOW and look at the road as you go. Very easy walk, not really a hike. There is a small spot to cross water, so if you are older or unsteady a hiking stick would help in this spot but other than that nothing much. We walked to the falls, again, there is a bit more of a "climb" to the top (we had my 70 year old parents with us for this). The views are beautiful, a nice spot to even have a picnic if you are okay sitting on a rock or something. We got cool here, the lake really has a breeze that flows across. It felt great for this family from Houston trying to escape the heat! We got some great family photos at the lake and also the top of the waterfall.

Not for the faint of heart without snow tires in winter, but this is a lovely drive from Breckenridge to 2 charming towns, Alma and Fairplay! About 10 miles out of Breck and then enjoy!! Lots of hikes along the way too!!
