Of course Red Rocks Amphitheater is world famous, as is Winter Park, but look for the others for hiking, biking, picnicking, and refreshing your soul.
The City of Denver owns several mountain parks in the foothills west of the city that offer lovely spots for picnics, hiking, playing horseshoes, and a variety of other activities.

Cherry Creek Trail
#6 of 33 Nature & Parks in Denver
The trail leads to a confluence park (not yet identified by trip advisor) and there’s a Starbucks by the REI shop where you can get recharged and just sit and watch life goes past by.
My favorite spot along the trail is REI, overlooking Confluence Park.
