Museum spacious and modern dedicated to the life of Samuel Clemens includes a gift shop, rest rooms, and cafe. Our tour of the home was over an hour with a very well informed guide dressed as the “butler and personal friend” of the Clemens family. As well as facts about the home and furnishings, he also told antidotes about Mark Twain and his family during the time they lived in the home. The architecture and beautiful decor of the home is much more lavish than expected. Highly recommend the visit.

Had not been to Museum since CoVid times but was, when in Hartford or area, a stop in for some calm and serenity. Was pleasantly surprised it was open, the snack bar and patio were open (EXCELLENT chicken salad sandwich and fries and a good coffee) and polite service - we ate outside as it was summer like in November! The collections are always excellent be it permanent or on loan. The museum never disappoints. Bathrooms needed a touch of attention - could have been a one off. Lovely gift shop.

The productions are almost always first-rate with sets that are sometime mind-bogglingly complicated and beautiful. One of our favorite cultural outings.

Our first visit which we took advantage of due to free entry for children and one adult CT resident in July/August. We did pay $7 for parking (convenience-elevator brings you right up to the centers lobby) paid for one adult and extra for the butterfly experience (totally worth it and no time limit). Our grands are 6 and 8 yr old girls and they loved it.
Lots of hands on , some restricted to younger kids) but sanitizer and restrooms abundant. Crowded due to some camp groups. Some activities got taken over a little roughly by older kids. Staff didn’t do much and not all adults stayed with their kids.
    Overall a great afternoon !
Snacks on first floor were outrageously expensive but after a few hours they were hungry.
Don’t miss the rooftop gardens with a spectacular views over Hartford and the Ct River

Nice place to walk around. It was a little too hot for comfort on the day we were there, but we still enjoyed it. Great views of the capitol.

We attended the performance of Hamilton at the theater today. Its hard to separate our experience at the theater from the performance itself. But the Staff were very accommodating ( we did have a digital ticket issue which they fixed very promptly) The facilities are fine. Parking was free and right across the street. The restaurant we had lunch at was nice and right down the street (walking distance). So the theater experience was great. But the show was even better. And prices are much better than Boston or NY. Even though it was a three hour drive for us, we'd go again if they offered a show we wanted to see.

We have been traveling around to AAA ball fields, this one was a gem, Easy to find, cheap close parking. Beautiful park, fun atomostphere, reasonable food choices for a ball park. We stayed until the very end which we seldom do. Park was almost sold out! Yard Goats lost but that was okay great game lots of action.

It's unusual to visit an old (for America) city like Hartford and see a non-traditional Cathedral like this one. The design is futuristic and even evokes space technology in places, while still retaining classical cathedral elements. I admired this balancing of novel design elements with tradition. It still looks like a place-of-worship and not a contemporary art museum.

I like to support this creative arthouse when I'm in Hartford as it is a gem of a place. Saw the imaginative Polish film "EO". It was a great movie made about the spirit of animals. The gallery had Rasmi Talpade's "Every Little Thing" exhibit which was great. It displayed intricate photo collages showing environmental challenges.

First time to the Connecticut Convention Center. Enjoyed it. Good parking layout. Easy access to enter from the Marriott Hotel or the adjacent restaurants across the street. Large open atrium lobby, similar to the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence.
Location has easy access off I-91. My only complaint is that it can be confusing when exiting off I-91 and where to turn, due to the fact that there are very few street signs to direct You to the convention center. If You can find the Marriott Hotel, You will be ok. The garage is connected to both the hotel and convention center.
The Beyond Van Goh exhibit was amazing. Very interactive and presented beautifully in Hartford. Prsentation was wonderful with great videos, lighting, and acoustics. I enjoyed the Van Goh gift shop at the end. I highly recommend this exhibit.

You should contact the office to see when tours start. This is a historic site. And also the most beautiful plantings.

We thought this was pretty cool, but we did go at the very end of October and the leaves were beautiful in the cemetery. So that lended to the ambiance.

We've frequented Theaterworks for years, returning each time with even greater expectations, never disappointed. The intimate, newly renovated theater, includes a warm gathering hall and small art gallery, a snack bar with hot and cold beverages and comfortable, amphitheater seating which offers excellent viewing from every vantage point. Recent additions allow special effects and realistic staging.

We attended "American Son" which takes place in a Florida police station where an interracial couple try to search for their missing son.
Another excellent 5 star performance. We have found Theaterworks to rival Broadway plays and performances, convenience and affordability. Check out the 2019-20 season, you will not be disappointed.
