Wonderful experience. We learned a lot about life in the 1860's. The ladies were beautifully dressed and exuded sweet southern hospitality. Some sayings that we say today had their roots in everyday life in the 1860's, like' "Sleep tight.". The building and items in the house were authentic. I recommend you take a step back into history and have a visit.

I tried to look at ticket prices online and it says $7 for adults but it’s actually $15 but if you are a student or military it is $12. I loved the experience throughout! They have a cutesy gift shop too!

Small beach, very active, plenty of grills and space. Family environment with public restrooms. Every now and then a vendor selling ice cream novelties will drive through selling cool treats.

Well maintained and an appropriate memorial to the many nameless, faceless casualties of the Civil War. As profound as it is, it is a small cemetery and not necessarily a "destination location" unless you're a history buff. Definitely worth visiting if you're already in Jonesboro for something else.

If you are looking for a place to cool off with the kids. Spivey Splash Water Park (formerly The Beach at Clayton International Park) is a good one. There is a lazy river, 4 water slides (the same ones as before minus the lake) two kiddie areas, and a flow rider surf wave area.

we got there around 930 am to get SEATS that we could place our towels down and my diabetic supplies (machine meds etc). I just had a kidney biopsy done so I didn't go on the slides. I did ride the lazy river. So with that said, I stayed with my families personal belongings while they had fun. It took one minute for my chair to be stolen by an employee who threw my stuff into another chair. I caught him in time to get him to bring it back to me. But the life guards continued to steal peoples chairs that had claimed them since the opening time. They THREW peoples wallets, cell phones, medical equipment on the ground to be trampled on and wet with people walking past.

Why? All because a party reserved a section at the gates instead of like regular folks do a week ahead of time. These folks didn't arrive to this reserved area until 12:30 pm. This was concerning to me.

I talked to a manager and he said that he had every right to do it and I said "Why?" He said, 'I just don't care."

Seriously? My tax dollars went to this turd who works at the water park I am visiting? How rude!!

So anyways I questioned why they didn't have this set up before the park opened and why they were not on a reservations list and he said, "We didn't know about it until they arrived at the park's gates."

okay so why punish those of us who were there FIRST????

Anyways, so the verdict is we would go back because it's worth the price.

And we will be renting a cabana that way we are guaranteed our chairs.

If this had been handled differently then I would give them the 5 star rating. However, their attitude, the way they treated people's personal items caused them to have the 4 star. I was going to give a three star but just for their attitudes this iwll hurt them in the end.

Our prediction is that the new improved water park will go down hill and look trashy before the first two years are done.

I was fortunate to go thru this home on several occasions; however, it has been too many years since it has been open to the public. The owner is planning to re-open it sometime in the future.
The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Even though you cannot see this, each room is built with bricks on all four walls. The builder was a local brick manufacturer.
You can still enjoy the outside of the home and gardens. Here you can imagine how grand it was to attend a party back in its early days. The home was built in 1879 with over one million bricks. You can also enjoy looking at the porches and gazebo, etc.
The reason for only three stars is that it is not open to the public at this time.

I hadn't played this course in a number of years. They've completely rebuilt the clubhouse area and it is really nice. Staff are friendly. Course is fun to play. It's pretty tight with a good bit of water. Greens were in nice shape. Fairways were a little spotty but it is December. A little bit over priced in my opinion. But a good place to play around.
