Myself and a few other pilots are in Arusha for a week for work, and we like to get out and explore, so we decided to book a day trip to bike to basecamp of Mt. Kilimanjaro (Mandara Hut).

We booked the trip for 4 of us, we're met in the hotel by all three people, the owner, the guide, and the driver.

After a few hours drive, we started the hike.

It was a long day, but full of amazing views, great conversation, and lots of amazing things learned hiking, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and safety from our guide Zakayo (he also goes by Zak).

Zak knew so much about everything, was happy to share and teach, and you can really tell he has passion about his home, hiking, being connected to the mountain, and a love to introduce that to other people.

He even took it a step further and taught us about the Tanzanian people, and Swahili culture.

Zack absolutely made the day, and went so far above and beyond, that that's all my friends and I could talk about on the few hours car ride back.

Side note, for those that want to do the full 7-9 day Mt. Kilimanjaro trek to the summit, trust me, Zak is your guy for this mission and you absolutely want him.

He's very knowledgeable about climate, weather, human factors such as how we're affected by elevation, and what to do should problems or issues arise.

Do check this company out, they were great, on time, communicated very well, and take a lot of pride in the service they offer.

Zak's English is great too and kept us laughing most of the time, we all need a Zak in this world!!

Our driver Gucci was awesome too.

All the best and safe travels everyone.

Mpemba was a wonderful guide, accommodating our requests, providing lots of information, willing to move at our pace, for a 13 hour tour. The tribe members were very welcoming and fun! We enjoyed the coffee experience and end with a lightly challenging hike to a spectacular waterfall. We highly recommend Mpemba!

If you are looking for an exceptional tour, I highly recommend Christine tour. It stands out not only for its in-depth historical and cultural insights but also because of the personal anecdotes she shares, which add a unique and engaging layer to the experience. Christine was born and raised in Arusha and she witnessed the citys delelopment over the last decades first hand.
She also shared lots of tips to help you explore the City on youre own after the tour!
Thanks again for the excellent tour for the company (operator) and Christine (guide) for many tips and memorable tour

It was an amazing day trip up to the first base camp on Kilimanjaro- Mandara hut and the nearby crater. The nature on the way up was amazing. We saw both species of monkeys of that area - the blue monkey and a beautiful white tail monkey. Special thanks to my guide Dennis, the driver and the manager of the team - Thomas for this unforgettable experience. Asanti sana!

My partner and I had a fantastic time with KLM Safaris on the Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Tour. Our guide, Frank, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of the land and sustainability, thanks to his background in geography and the environment, really stood out.

Frank’s English was excellent, and he was kind and patient, never rushing us. KLM Safaris’ commitment to sustainability was impressive, making the experience even more rewarding.

For a tour that blends natural beauty with responsible practices, I highly recommend KLM Safaris. A big thanks to Frank and the team for an unforgettable day!

A great day, the waterfall was lovely, the coffee making, much better than expected and fun, the warm springs were lovely at rhe end of the day. Julius, our driver was chatty and great, and managed to get us an afternoon view of Kilimanjaro, Florian, who took us to the waterfall, showed us many interesting things en route. I embarked on an unforgettable journey with Dancing Simba Safaris from June 28th to July 3rd, 2024. My adventure spanned the diverse landscapes of Tarangire National Park, with its towering baobab trees and vast herds of elephants. The serene beauty of Lake Manyara offered a glimpse of playful baboons silhouetted against the setting sun, their chatter echoing through the trees. Long-necked giraffes stretched their elegant forms to feed on leaves high in the canopy. The awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, left me breathless. But it was the majestic Serengeti National Park that truly stole the show. Here, a seemingly endless sea of wild animals across the vast savanna, punctuated by the calls of gazelles and the watchful gaze of lions. The air vibrated with a symphony of bird calls.
With Dancing Simba's expert guides and comfortable accommodations, our diverse group from all corners of the globe (America, Africa - me from Ethiopia, Europe - Norway, Asia - China, and Australia) had an unforgettable safari experience. The shared thrill of encountering Tanzania's incredible wildlife fostered a sense of camaraderie that transcended cultural differences. Our safari jeep became a microcosm of the world, with six of us sharing stories and laughter. I, from Ethiopia, learned a lot from my fellows, while the thrill of spotting a pride of lions sparked lively discussions with our fellow travelers from Norway, America, and Australia.

A special thanks goes to Mr. David John, who ensured everything was perfectly organized, and to our incredible guide, Mr. Joseph. His knowledge and passion for Tanzanian wildlife made the experience truly unforgettable. He expertly explained the tour and the fascinating species of animals we encountered, bringing the wonders of the African savanna to life. This trip was more than just a good time; it was a transformative experience that deepened my appreciation for nature's wonders. From the vast plains teeming with life to the awe-inspiring heights of Kilimanjaro, where I challenged myself with a one-day hike to Mandara Hut, with a special thanks to my incredible guide who expertly paced me throughout the climb, Tanzania offered an unforgettable adventure.

Tanzania has cast its spell, and I know it won't be my last visit. Next time, I will be returning with my family for an unforgettable adventure. Together, we will:
    • Conquer the mighty Kilimanjaro, reaching the summit of Uhuru Peak.
    • Witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Great Migration.
    • Relax and soak up the beauty of Zanzibar's beaches.

Embark on a 7-day epic adventure through Tanzania's breathtaking landscapes, where you’ll immerse yourself in the rich culture and diverse wildlife of the Serengeti, Manyara, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. Each day in these iconic national parks offers unforgettable experiences, from exploring Tarangire National Park, renowned for its vast elephant population, to visiting the Ngorongoro Crater, famously dubbed the "Garden of Animals," where you have a great chance of spotting the Big Five in a single day. Conclude your safari on the stunning shores of Lake Manyara, known for its vibrant flamingos and unique tree-climbing lions. Along the way, enjoy city walks, wildlife safaris, and cultural encounters that will create memories to cherish for a lifetime.

We have just returned home from an amazing experience on Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Wonders Expedition Safari. I appreciate the great organization and scheduling by Edward our host in Tanzania. He advice helped with the route planning and selection of the comfort level.
Our pick-up from the airport was punctual and we found our hotel nice and homely just as we expected.
Our experience on Kilimanjaro was awesome, the crew is very experienced and we had an amazing experience trekking with such great people. The equipment was first class and we had enough provisions for excellent meals, water, snacks and a well kitted first aid kit.
After the trek we went on a three day safari to Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. This was totally awesome and an excellent way to unwind and relax after the grueling trek.
I highly recommend working with Kilimanjaro Wonders Expedition Safaris. They were totally outstanding!
