- Marty S8 contributionsYou must do this if visiting Moorea. Havaiki is such a warm and knowledgeable host. It is so much more than lunch. While preparing the food, we learned Polynesian history and culture while we made incredibly delicious and colorful food. She has a lovely bungalow that is so tastefully designed. We learned and had just the perfect amount of engagement in the process. - Bodo HErkrath, Germany31 contributionsI came by ferry from Tahiti and was expecting to take the public bus to Hauru area. I planned this ween in advance...found the bus schedule on the internet. Wow...outdated! There is no more public bus service on the island, except for school buses.
So I asked the local people at the exit from the ferry terminal and a driver of Moorea Transport was so kind as to help me in the unexpected situation of mine.
He even gave me contact details, where to book a shared transfer back to the port when leaving Moorea.

We only had a day on the island and wanted to hire some scooters and do some snorkelling. Tom was so helpful in phoning ahead to the scooter hire place to ensure there were scooters available and in recommending good beaches for us to do some snorkelling. He provided great commentary to us throughout our trip and arranged to pick us up at the end of the day to ensure we got back to the cruise ship on time. Tom’s taxi is modern and very clean and air conditioned.
