    This tour provided a great
Introduction to Chicago and the beauty of the downtown area. A great way to get oriented before exploring further. The 90 minutes went by so quickly, in large part because side our docent, Nancy, was entertaining and informative. Highly recommend!

The Chicago River Architecture Tour is a fantastic way to explore the city's iconic architecture from a unique perspective. Here's a suggested itinerary for a 45-minute tour starting from the Magnificent Mile:

    Preparation:

Make sure to check the tour schedule and book tickets in advance to secure your spot.
Arrive at the departure point at least 15-20 minutes before the scheduled departure time to check in and board the boat.
    Tour Itinerary:

    1. Departure from Magnificent Mile:

Head to the departure point along the Chicago Riverwalk or at a designated pier near the Magnificent Mile.
Listen to any safety instructions or information provided by the tour guide as you board the boat.
    2. Begin the Tour:

Once everyone is settled, the boat will depart, and your guide will start providing commentary on the architectural highlights along the river.
    3. Chicago River Highlights:

As you cruise along the Chicago River, you'll pass by some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Willis Tower (formerly known as the Sears Tower), the Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, Marina City, and the Merchandise Mart.
Your guide will provide interesting insights into the history, design, and significance of each architectural gem.
    4. Architectural Commentary:

Throughout the tour, your guide will point out notable architectural styles, landmarks, and anecdotes about the architects and builders behind Chicago's skyline.
Learn about the city's architectural evolution from the early skyscrapers of the late 19th century to the modern marvels of today.
    5. Photo Opportunities:

Be sure to have your camera ready to capture stunning views of the city's skyline and architectural landmarks from the vantage point of the river.
Your guide will likely point out the best photo spots along the route.
    6. Return to Magnificent Mile:

After approximately 45 minutes of cruising and sightseeing, the boat will return to the Magnificent Mile area.
Take a moment to thank your guide and crew before disembarking.
    Post-Tour:

Consider exploring more of the Magnificent Mile's attractions, shopping, dining, or entertainment options after the tour.
Reflect on the fascinating architectural insights gained during the tour and share your experiences with friends or family.
Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and bring any necessary items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat if you're touring during sunny weather. Enjoy your Chicago River Architecture Tour experience!

Amazing way to see the whole of the city. Incredible views! On the advice of the staff we opted to go up later than planned and we were glad we did. We got the whole experience and saw the Lakeshore, the gold Coast as well as all the well- known and iconic architectural sights!

Pretty standard natural history museum in a nice building. The museum has 3 levels with some interactive experiences. Admission is free if you have a membership to another ASTC museum.

For those not afraid of heights, this is a must-do thing while in Chicago. Not only do your ears pop on the way to the 103rd floor, when you get to the top you can see all of Chicago! The sky deck is fun to go out on and snap photos looking down. A good activity for teens.

This was amazing. Such a great, informative tour. Architecture, art history, gangland stories, and amazing Chicago foods and their history. Do yourself a favor and do this tour. Do yourself a second favor and request Jeff.

This is a mixed review. Our first bus ride was with Candice. She was the best bus driver! She gave a personal experience and engaged with the riders. Candice set the bar high for sure! The second bus driver didn't say anything to the riders other than notifying of us our stops. The audo recording we are forced to listen to is just awful. The recording is difficult to understand and the music played in between the narrative is truly painful. I've taken this tour countless times in the past, not sure when it changed to audio recordings. Thank goodness for Candice! The company needs to go back to the more personal experience.

Beautiful day and a lovely cruise. Wish it lasted longer. Narration was very informative. Best seats are in the middle so you can hear the narration. Especially hard to hear in the back.
