My parents and I spent an afternoon at Oliver Winery this past summer doing a wine tasting, and it was such a delight! The grounds are beautiful, and the wines were all top-notch. There were quite a few yellow jackets buzzing about on the patio, but they weren't stinging. I did have to get one of my wine samples replaced because the yellow jackets got to it first, though! You can bring a picnic or buy snacks in the shop, which is what we did. They had a discount going if you did a tasting and then bought a case of wine, so we bought a case to split between the three of us. We liked everything we tried that day, but our favorite was hands-down the mead. This is a great local business and a fun way to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend it.

Rating based on free entry via ASTC membership. If I had to pay for entry I’d likely rate it a 3.5~3.25.
If you are a museum enthusiast as we are, this one is fairly small. It’s got two floors but they utilize the space well. Numerous hands-on exhibits to include a microscope with large TV display, several magnet displays, some wildlife (bees, ants, fish and a fe reptiles) and water related exhibits as well. There is a climbing exhibit right in the middle of the building as well. It’s a nice spot to waste and hour-hour and a half.

Very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. We were present at a prayer and was happy to have the opportunity.

Only drove around to see fall colors but anxious to go boating and fishing, we have a kayak, but boat rentals for fishing are a plus!

Wonderful historic theater with music groups, plays, children's theater, and speakers. Ladies, the restrooms are plentiful and nice, which is unusual in older theaters.Staff is professional and helpful. Superior concessions with baked goods from a connected business and crafted drinks for adult performances. Beautiful venue.

My favorite thing about the Farmers Market is the variety of live performances at each market and the many special activities that adjoin the market. The restaurant area is also wonderful. Of course the produce being sold by local farmers is excellent

Back in April 2021, I visited Assembly Hall twice in order to get my two vaccine doses—and was reminded about how iconic and huge this place is. I’ve lived in Bloomington for so long, but as with any location, you tend to take things for granted; I always walk or drive past Assembly Hall without really valuing it for what it’s worth. It’s a crazy cool place to watch a game.

Hopefully with COVID diminishing in the next year, normal match schedules can finally return to their full glory!

Couples weekend and we stopped in (found via Google Maps).
Chocolates and wine due to Valentines Day. The wines were good. My favorites were blackberry and blueberry.

While visiting the IU campus, we made time to spend an hour in this architectural gem, an I.M. Pei-designed building, housing a wonderful representative art collection. First we explored the building, enjoying the 3-story atrium with all of its lines and and shadows and glass ceiling. There are seven galleries to explore: Ancient; Asian; Africa, Oceania, and Indigenous Art of the Americas; American and European; Contemporary; and Prints and Drawings. The American and European art gallery is a representative collection with examples of many styles over several centuries, including Renaissance, Dutch, American Landscapes, and Impressionism. The Contemporary gallery includes works by Henry Moore, Marcel Duchamp, George Rickey, and Jackson Pollock. And in the special exhibition gallery, we saw an exhibition of the actress Glenn Close's movie costume collection which she donated to Indiana U.

We went here for lunch with a group of friends and they have a good selection of pizza and beers. We got a couple of flights and shared some pizzas. I love when the pepperonis are just a little burnt. So good! You also don't tip as it is part of the cost. That is nice and the service was great either way!

Right through Downtown Bloomington. Plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. Farmers market was also going on. South end has the new Switch Yard Park - very cool. North end is shorter, but very quiet

So how many universities have a world class opera house? Not sure, but this is one of them. We have been attending operas here since we attended IU in the 70s, and attend any time we can. Here is the difference - easy to get reasonably priced tickets with great seats, a relaxed crowd, and student performers that put more emotion into their roles than you set at the Met, NYC, Or Santa Fe. This past week we took opera novice IU students to see Suor Angelica and Gianni Schichi and they loved it. So did we. Don’t miss this place.

A beautiful historic county courthouse in the center of downtown Bloomington! Be sure to walk all the way around this 1906 Beaux Arts building to see all of the individual memorials and works of art...the war memorial, the 1910 population center plaque, the tribute to women in government, the historic marker, and the building topper...a copper weathervane saved from the previous courthouse building!! Enjoy the lovely sculptures over the main entrance, and if the building is open, check out the lovely glass dome!! And then just sit and enjoy the day!! It's also lovely when lit at night too.

This is a gem of a beach, not extra muddy, depends on the day on how busy it is. Fishing area is further away from the swimmers and the boating area is further out. Right next to the fourwinds. This one kind of reminds me of the movie Dirty Dancing. No camping, but it has the Fourwinds Resort, out dated mini golf course, but not a party area. There also isn't someone coordinating games lol, but at one time this area was hopping like what you would have seen in the movies.
