- FarAway199534609931 contributionOur barrel experience was canceled earlier in the week due to the snow storms. We rebooked the Distillery tour. Megan went out of her way to make this tour fantastic. We ended w/ a pizza which had the sauce infused w/ their "Hot Pepper Vodka". Yummmm!Written January 14, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DISBOFFG41Louisville, KY174 contributionsThe best part of a distillery tour at Bulleit is the tasting. The pair is with and scent shaker that heightened the tasting experience. Newer distillery but had a great explanation of the bourbon process. Gift shop bourbon prices are higher than local Louisville liquor storesWritten December 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gobabigo11Louisville, KY276 contributionsWe went to the Sunflower and Corn Festival on a September Sunday afternoon. It was such a fun time. You can purchase different size containers and they give you scissors to go out in the field and cut your own sunflowers. I didn’t realize they were so heavy and hard to cut, so be prepared to carry them if you go. The fields were just beautiful!! They also have lots of stuff to do with the kids, like a petting zoo and a carousel ride. I also loved shopping in the store. I can’t wait to go back!Written September 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jeffrey WShelbyville, KY1,267 contributionsI have lived in Shelbyville for over 2 decades.. my GF had recently moved here.. but neither of us had ever visited Wakefield-Scearce..
On a recent quiet and rainy Saturday afternoon.. we decided to check it out..
Warning.. this is NOT your typical mid-american antiques store.. no gas station collectible Flintstones juice glasses or Holly Hobby dolls here.. these are high end English antiques.. most from the 19th century.. and almost all with 4 figure price tags..
Beautiful stuff here.. but most of it well out of my price point..
No matter.. I was most entertained by the interesting maze of rooms, staircases, hallways, galleries an passageways.. when you enter.. you first think there are only a few small rooms.. but don't be deceived keep exploring.
This would be a great place to film a whodunit mystery! So atmospheric.. wood panelled studies and dining rooms.. cozy little bedrooms and office nooks..it feels like you are wandering around the upstairs rooms at Downton Abbey..
So even if you are NOT in the market for $3K Chippendale sideboards.. if you are a history and architecture buff.. go exploring for an afternoon in this former high end girls preparatory school for the daughters of the distinguished families of a bygone era.. you will want to visit again and again!Written January 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have eaten lunch there a couple times, and love the farm-fresh produce they use in their sandwiches. They also have quite a variety of peaches and apples in season.Written December 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jgbtravelsLouisville, KY4,806 contributionsMuch better experience than the last time. They seem to have added some new stuff in this shop. It was much needed as the last time looked a bit old and tired. Over the years my wife and I have bought several items from this place. It is the largest antique store in downtown Shelbyville. If you enjoy old architecture then a walk in downtown Shelbyville will fit the bill.Written March 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Newatthis03Shelbyville, KY124 contributionsFor a small theater, It only holds 134 seats, it is HUGE on talent! Sister Act was the last production and it was amazing! They had to add 2 more performances just to keep patrons happy! Home town talent is the best, if you get a chance you need to go see a show!Written March 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jgbtravelsLouisville, KY4,806 contributionsThis is no longer an antique shop as the sign above the door says “The Gatsby”. It’s actually two separate shops as one sells various Knick-knacks and the other side sells soaps, candles, etc. Frankly we liked it better when it was an antique shop but at least it’s not a vacant storefront.Written March 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
