What travellers are saying
- cb4fullcircleAustin, TX94 contributionsWe have traversed the canal twice by boat which requires watching tides and looking out for people who don't understand speed limits and the concept of no wake. We went once on rented bikes using the bike trails. Bikes were rented at Buzzard Bay Bike Rental 139 Main Street Buzzards Bay MAWritten September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ClaireWithLoveGermantown, MD2,146 contributionsThe Railroad Bridge, one of the few vertical lift bridges in the country, moves downward to allow a train to cross, then moves up out of the way to allow boats to cross under it. It is so fun to watch. The Cape Cod Train leaves the Buzzards Bay station on Fridays at 12 pm and is a two hour train ride, so you may want to come around those times to see the bridge lowered.
There is plenty of free parking and bathrooms with water fountains, picnic tables, benches, and a children's playground and waterpark.
You can start walking or biking on the Cape Cod Canal trail at this point, and it is fun to watch the fisherman, birds, seals, and people.Written July 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some lifeguard presence. It was sunny but very windy that day we were there. Parking is adjacent to the beach and some eateries are within 50 yards of the beach. Calm easygoing and accessible to all.Written May 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Peter RBoston, MA2,149 contributionsExtraordinary staff make the house unique. It is a beautifully restored home from 1802 added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. Decorated to the 1840-1910 period when the summer White House of Grover Cleveland was just down the street in Grey Gables, and before the completion of the Cape Cod Canal. I especially enjoyed the special exhibit of the old Bourne postcards.Written September 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - m35yellowbrickrdHanover, MA243 contributionsI happened on a notice that there was a "behind" the scenes availability - overall even though the seal "posed" for a kodak moment (you can not take pictures nor even talk in the facility) - i was very disappointed in the "experience -

However, on our most recent trip the staff were so amazing I just had to leave them a note! The facility is fine, it's just a small arcade with candle pin bowling, but the staff was really outstanding! They were patient with my son while he picked prizes and helpful when we purchased bowling and loaded our arcade cards! - Pamila SandsEast Wareham, MA81 contributionsWe were looking for items to fill our new home and discovered a few terrific pieces that were just perfect.
1. Four wine glasses they don’t make any more because the glass quality is so refined and flawless.
2. Two gorgeous crystal table lamps for our bedroom that were exactly the quality and vintage look we wanted—a great find!
And Dave, we hope you are reading this review. You were so helpful and good natured despite some people who were always trying to get you down in price.
Thank you for providing us with such wonderful products, decent prices and one fine, quality antique shop. Guaranteed we will be back!Written May 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
