What travellers are saying
- Richard F1 contributionThere are plenty of reasons the Atwood Museum won the Tripadvisor award. It is a wonderful museum telling the story of Chatham area. The docents are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The exhibits are interesting and extremely well designed. The Gallery Barn contained an amazing exhibition of murals about the community by a local artist. Our hats are off the the volunteers and board of directors who manage, run and maintain this gem of a local museum.Written September 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AML50Chatham41 contributionsVery Interesting museum for the history and communications story told. This museum is small but packed with information, things to do, and relics to see. The volunteer was extremely knowledgeable about what took place and what an important role it played during the 20 th century.Written December 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JoyceTopsham, ME509 contributionsWe came to the Cape to go on a Shark Alley tour to see Great Whites from the boat so naturally we had to stop here. Pretty cool seeing the replicas of Curly and a model of the shark "Bruce" from the Jaws movie. $10 each to get in but we were in and out in 30 minutes.Written September 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nick PStaten Island, NY388 contributionsThe museum is free to enter, and yet there were four guides who were more than happy to show you around and answer questions. The museum is just two rooms and a caboose outside. While it is much for the railroad buff, we found ourselves very interested in the history surrounding the Cape and railroads in general. You get a feel for the importance railroads had in building America.

Great location with a variety of different products including clothing, skincare and jewelry. The young local woman at the counter was very helpful and sweet as well.
