The historic fishing town of Gloucester dates back to 1623 and is arguably the most famous fishing port in the country. This monument was dedicated in 1925 and honors the fishermen who have lost their lives at sea and is a poignant reminder of the fragility of life. It is estimated that over 10,000 fishermen of Gloucester have died at sea. Between 1860 and 1906, 660 ships sank in the Atlantic. In 1879, 249 lives were lost in a single day. It is easy to stroll out to the monument if you are visiting the historic center of Gloucester.

Very clean and staff was knowledgeable. Beautiful grounds and history. There are multiple stories and stairwells to get easily confused. But so worth it.

We really enjoyed this beach. We found it clean, picturesque, the epitome of a northern beach in our humble opinions. We would return in a heart beat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Beauport. The docent was very knowledgeable and the interior designs of the house encompassed various times in American history. We learned that Mr. Sleeper was a major influence on Henry DuPont and the development of Winterthur. If you have enjoyed visiting Winterthur, you should pay a visit to Beauport.

It really is the most amazing beach.
We had to download an app to park which was easy to do.
There are toilets on site and a small shop.
We arrived when the tide was out and we had a lovely walk out on one of the sandbars with our young kids. Hours later when the tide came in we had such a great time swimming and exploring. Beautiful sand and calm waters.
    An absolute must visit

Discovered this park when looking for fishing spots while on vacation. It is a great park. Half moon is a wonderful beach -quite and calm. The visitor center is closed so are the restrooms but they do have porta pottys down by the softball feild. Lots of little trails. Looked like a nice sized playground. Pleanty of picnic tables and benches to look out over the water. Had a nice time fishing from the beach. Would go back!

This is a clean and lovely white sand beach. There weren't a lot of people present when we were there which made it especially appealing. I don't know if this is usual or if we were lucky but we would definitely return.

Pleasant walk along the Western Harbor of Gloucester which includes sea glass filled Pavilion Beach. Includes the Gloucester Fisherman’s Memorial. This area should definitely be included in a visit to the historic fishing port.

Very nice walking route, bocce courts, benches overlooking the water, beautiful gardens and statuary, including the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial and Wives Memorial statues. There appeared to be a 'dog-friendly' section of rocky beach. Parking is plentiful and free along the street. Adjacent is Stage Fort Park, a city park, easy to walk to on the adjoining path. Parking at Stage Fort Park is $20, but free after around 3:00 p.m. There's a Visitor's Center which has very limited parking spots.
