- Dorene2014Fort Mill, SC62 contributionsBeautiful area. Was able to get unbelievable photos of the lake. Sat on the beach and enjoyed the peace and calmness of the area. Extremely beautiful area.Written September 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- PrincessPea65Ann Arbor, MI30 contributionsFun half day trip! It’s about 7 miles to Harbor Springs from Petosky . We rented bikes from Banhof’s which is right on the trail a little outside of Petosky. We rented for 4hrs and were able to bike there, have lunch and do little shopping and bike back. Do take the alternate route along Beach rd for a more scenic route, else you are pretty much riding on the side of the highway about half the time. There are a couple of hills on Beach Road so riding back I had to walk my bike a couple times, but I am out of shape. Take that into account and maybe rent an electric bike!Written August 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - o2bnkdToronto, Canada140 contributionsThis is an amazing forested area in the middle of the city. Something most folks (I did at first) would think is out in the country somewhere. It's an easy hike along the rivers edge for the most part.Written October 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly CathcartValparaiso, IN1,232 contributionsThis park is perfect to watch the sunset. There is parking and under the road walkway from the downtown district. The park is very well maintained and beautiful. A must see!Written September 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Doug GRochester Hills, MI264 contributionsWe've ridden this trail a couple of times before and found the paved stretch from Spring Lake to Alanson to be a nice ride as always. Beyond Alanson the trail is "crushed limestone", which we usually have no problem with, but we found it to be mostly a lot of loose gravel that was no fun to ride on, and we turned back after a half mile or so.Written August 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave ZIllinois6 contributionsNice view of the bay. Plenty of areas to fish. Great park to relax/walk/bike/fly a kite. Restrooms were closed due to virus concerns.Written May 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jon GLibertyville, IL13 contributionsWhat do you do in Petosky when it’s cloudy and the temperature is below freezing? Go to the McCune Nature Preserve and enjoy a hike! Savor a wide, mostly level sandy and leafy trail, listen to woodpeckers, coyotes, several types of birds, and the rustling of squirrels and dry leaves, meditate on benches next to a bridge over a quietly babbling creek, and breathe the fresh scents emanating from a variety of deciduous and evergreen trees. When the land is wet, you’ll find the trail is a non-slip boardwalk. Tiny flowers and millions of green leaves signal the coming of spring. One cannot get lost, as there are numbered maps at every trail junction, permitting a practically infinite variety of hikes and distances. Although the parking lot is small (but there always seem to be a couple of cars), a hike with a friend or spouse seldom encounters others, since the preserve is large. This is a place to get out of town and truly experience nature’s peace.Written May 4, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AJMAZZOLASilver Lake, NH135 contributionsWhile visiting friends/family in Michigan we did three sections of the North Country Trail. This trail was very well maintained, well blazed, and gradual elevation gain. This is the longest ( 4600 miles) scenic continuous trail in the USA, stretching from New York to North Dakota. It travels through 7 states. These sections were so enjoyable we decided to go to North Dakota in May of next year and see hoe Far East we can getWritten August 14, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StanLas Vegas, NV597 contributionsThis is a great place to visit if you are south of Petoskey near the Walloon Lake region. Set up on a elevated piece of land with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys and lakes. They have an observation deck where you can peruse the awesome scenery. The barn is filled with local products and produce. The tomatoes were spectacular and the sweet corn was yummy. Very organic focus here and true local provisioning. It is a place where you can find things you needed but didn't even know you needed them :-) A nice collection also available of Michigan-centric gifts. A bit touristy, but it's not the regular cheap roadside junk. You will find yourself spending a good hour snooping around the barn and oogling the views. This is a must-see if you are in the neighborhood.Written August 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
