We had a wonderful experience horseback riding at Stermitz Ranch!
The drive up to the ranch was in itself scenic and memorable as the road winds its way up the mountain next to a babbling creek.
The ranch is vast and beautiful. Our wrangler Sierra was amazing and gave us a great tour on horseback. She was sweet and truly made it an authentic Montana experience. It was a highlight of our trip.
I highly recommended going here, you'll be glad you did!

Met our Yellowstone tour guide there at 7:00 am. prior to entering park. We were thankful restrooms were open at that time of day. Restrooms were well maintained.

Pastor Britton Gray always has a refreshing sermon to give and you will always be made to feel at home here. Be warned - this church has a VERY small congregation but welcomes everyone. Very friendly people! It is amazing what all this small church accomplishes, considering its size!😉

This trail was a bit tricky to find. It is mostly uphill but it is not overly rocky. Good views of the surrounding hills and mountains. Heard a bear and saw bear tracks on the trail on our way back down, they were not there when we went up. Obviously be careful of bears.

Go here for a relaxing, clean, invigorating soak!

Go to Chico if you want spring break on steroids in a tired, expensive setting.

FIrst visit today to Yellowstone Hot springs, (YHS) but it won’t be the last. Disclaimer: I grew up going to Chico, and still hold a place in my heart for it. But the last few visits have been marked by hundreds of drunk people in the pool, noise, and dirty, depressing changing rooms.

By contrast, YHS has clean clean clean changing rooms, no alcohol at the pool, and spectacular views all around. We thoroughly enjoyed our soaks, and did partake of the hot-cold-hot back & forth as recommended. Really relaxing and very pleasant!

We were able to use senior discounts as well, which was handy.

To be fair, I don’t know what the crowds are like at YHS in the height of summer when the campground (and Park) is full. Gotta say, though, that having no Spring Break atmosphere is a huge plus.

    We’ll be back!

Staying at Hell's A-Roarin' was the experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget. Our reason for visiting was to experience the ranch, I have been following on Facebook, for quite some time. People may not know this, but the ranch owner, Warren Johnson, holds a massive fundraiser and horse drive each Memorial Day weekend in Gardiner and Jardine. All of the net proceeds go to purchasing Action Trackchairs for those with disabilities to reclaim their freedom, independence, and mobility in the outdoors. During our visit, we got to meet the man, the myth, and the legend himself and to hear about, "Hannibal" the grizzly bear, that he has followed and admired for over 22 years. Stories like that, coming from one of the most respected Cowboys of our era, really bring you home to the Old West. Additionally, the views were breathtaking, the BBQ was delicious, his team of employees were amazing, and listening to the sounds of nature all night will never be forgotten. Happy trails.

We had such a great time with Kody and Wally. Great guides who know the area. Very friendly and easy going. We all had a wonderful day learning to fly fish with them. All four of us caught multiple fish. Highly recommend this.place.

This was our 5th horseback riding experience around YNP, and this was one of the most beautiful trail. Expect driving 5 miles up on the mountain on a gravel road to get to Specimen Creek Outfitters. Drive itself was so thrilling for us, but the owner said this is one of better roads. Everything went smoothly and we made another great memory! Thanks Ralph!

Our first experience Fly Fishing, and it was amazing. Our guide instructed us on the basics, took us to various spots on the river where the fish were biting. Along with great weather the peacefulness of this activity made this truly a moment that will not be forgotten. The company was extremely helpful and worked around a time and date to accommodate our schedule.

My husband and I don't fish, but it seemed like the thing to do while in Wyoming, and so glad we did

We had a great day on the river with Patrick as our guide. He was very knowledgeable on the area and lots of fun. My boys had so much fun and it was a great time to go as we had the river all to ourselves.

There are several smaller shops in town, but this one has the largest selection of souvenirs. They also sell ice cream here. I found this shop to be expensive. I found a few of the same items for less at the smaller shops. The town is so small and easily walkable, so I compared prices before purchasing.

We had so much fun with Corey and Montana Whitewater! It was so cool to see the effects of the June 2022 flood on the river. Jumped in and swam around for a bit, "rode the bull" and just generally had a fun trip down the river! Would love to try the full day or overnight sometime!

Our excellent guides had us happily on the road early in the morning in order to have the best chance for wildlife sightings. We were able to observe three wolf packs in action including the Lupine Pack, the Rescue Creek Pack and the Junction Butte Pack. Additionally we had many other wildlife sightings such as bull elk plowing through chest high snow drifts, a flat out bison we were convinced was dead and then surprisingly lifted his head, a bull moose lounging in the willows, big horn sheep, coyotes, and birds, too numerous to count.

When we were not at our scopes on the side of the road, our guides shared history, science, stories, and the politics of the wolf reintroduction program. Additionally, they daily rolled out great breakfasts and lunches. Our evenings were icing on the cake. Our evening meals and educational programs surpassed my expectations.

Very reliable group. Very professional. Returned calls and e-mails promptly. Ryan was great. Will use them again next time we are in MT. We are from the South and not use to driving in snow so Ryan drove us from Bozeman to West Yellowstone and back at the end of the week. We felt very comfortable with Ryan driving us since he is also a guide in the area.
