We returned to the U.S. side of the falls after discovering this during Covid. Before, we always went to Canada. This time was even more special because Carole Manson took the time to inform us about so many things to see and do here! We stayed an extra 2 days and will definitely return soon and looking forward to visiting Fort Niagra!

Dog friendly trail around the island. Trails are paved and well maintained. Be prepared for a lot of people being at the lookout points but manageable. Beautiful scenery of the falls, rapids and river.

The Schoellkopf Power Plant ruins is a great addition to the attractions on the American side of Niagara Falls. You take the restored plant elevator down to the Niagara River. At the base are nice murals explaining all about the plant and its collapse. There are also nice walking trails where you can take a short walk around the area or even take a longer hike.

One easy trail leads down to the water's edge. It is nice being at river level and having the unique view of the gorge and the river as you look back toward Rainbow Bridge and the Falls. And the best part is, it is completely free.

In the same area is the Maid of the Mist dry dock, where they store the boats during the winter.

The Niagara Gorge Discovery Center and Aquarium are across the street.

The town has lots of murals around but this is a spot where you can see multiple ones down a small alleyway.

There is an 8 minute video on Nicola Tesla at the Maid of the Mist attraction. The theater is decorated beautifully full of art, posters. Seating g in theater is wooden bench with a few rows to seat about 30-40 people. There are captions for hearing impaired guest and staff are wonderful.

Just down the road from the Rainbow bridge you can find the Whirlpool Rapids bridge we saw it flying over in a helicopter, there are two bridges one for roads users and the other trains, a stunning piece of metal frame work, worth a view either above or driving past.

Pine Avenue is now the "Main" street of Niagara Falls. Lots of small businesses and restaurants in this area. But we always thought it was sad that the columns from the old Niagara Falls High School were removed from the building and installed on Pine Avenue -- that was unnecessary and ruined the facade of the old historic school.

Just a beautiful old arch in the Niagara Parks US side. Not really highlighted on the parks map but it is near the Cave of the winds.

Pretty cool history. The Old Stone Chimney was built in 1750. If you’re a history buff passing through, you should stop by.
