- Charles_and_SusanNottingham, UK7,407 contributionsIt's such an amazing place. You can reach several of the named falls from the paths in the park. Seek out all the different ways to reach the edge. It's surprising how close you can get to the speeding and falling water. From several places the water and spray create rainbows.Written October 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sunny Travels57 contributionsThis was definitely my favorite experience during my entire trip to Niagara.
A quick elevator ride down, a brief walk through the tunnel, and you are ready to have a once in a lifetime experience.
You will get wet. We brought extra clothes and shoes to be prepared. My socks and shoes were soaked afterward and the bottom of my pants. All in good fun though!
The only thing odd was when I was buying my ticket, the employee was vaping as she was selling tickets.Written October 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This time was even more special because Carole Manson took the time to inform us about so many things to see and do here! We stayed an extra 2 days and will definitely return soon and looking forward to visiting Fort Niagra!Written October 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheMalamutePortsmouth, NH34 contributionsDog friendly trail around the island. Trails are paved and well maintained. Be prepared for a lot of people being at the lookout points but manageable. Beautiful scenery of the falls, rapids and river.Written September 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - arbi n17 contributionsThere are lovely walking routes in Whirlpool State Park that offer a variety of breathtaking river views. Without a doubt, I would strongly advise doing the same when visiting Niagara Falls.Written September 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marie83 contributionsIf you’re going to do Maid of the Mist anyway, this is a free add on and the views are great. But from Rainbow Bridge you can probably get just as good or better views.Written September 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Beepa1942DeWitt, MI72 contributionsOur grandchildren enjoyed their first visit to the Falls and the State Park. The day was a warm sunny October afternoon, perfect for walking and viewing the falls.Written October 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ArrowVoyagerBrampton, Canada849 contributionsOne of the Best hikes ever. The scope of the Niagara Gorge is truly impressive. So many great things to see with the Highlite being the Rapids racing by within feet. It is an awesome experience. You can walk for miles or just turnaround after one mile. Very easy walking platform as it is the old trackbed for the Great Gorge Route.Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard P1 contributionDo your research before hiking. We... Did not. The views are breathtaking (as are the stairways). The trail is rugged to travel and can be very narrow (and dangerous) in many places. Experienced hikers should do fine. Overweight older gentlemen like myself should think twice.
We were expecting a Watkins Glen style hike where you could hike down and walk a slopping roadway back to the top. No such luck. You go down 400+ stairs and you will have to come back up the same-ish amount.
To be fair. We entered at the stairs to the right of the pullover parking area and walked only until we found the next set of stairs. The trail goes farther and could get easier... But at that point, we weren't talking any chances.

While you can view the falls better from the CA side, the US side gets you up closer! - KritomangBallwin, MO36 contributionsHotel was very nice, contrary to other reviews. Room. Halls, lobby, all very clean and nice. The staff were the rudest people this side of New York City. Rude is an attitude not a characteristic. There is no place in hospitality for rude people, but yet places still employ them. Arrogant and condescending attitudes must be a training tool so they don't have to actually be hospitable. Try training your people. You can get the same results, but with a smile and kindness. Even kindness in return to their arrogance was met with more arrogance. I'd rather stay somewhere else and pay more, or have less amenities then to pay the salaries of these rude, untrained customer service facing employees for their services (Excluding Angela at breakfast, Antonio and Christopher at the western door steakhouse. ). At the hostess stand at the western door steakhouse, the hostess was like a tired Grandma, and the person seating us looked like she just lost her dog. Sour puss and no conversation. Terrible. Why should your customers deal with this. Front desk- awful. Front desk manager- awful. Stop treating people like YOU are the warden.Written July 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stellan DBromma, Sweden561 contributionsFantastic falls which at the moment have a very good flow of water. - TravelDeerNew York City, NY1,198 contributionsA must-do in Niagara Falls, NY. Smooth boat ride (a little bumpy at times, so may need to hold on to something if unsteady on your feet) with great views. You get a bit wet but are given a poncho (included in price), or you can stay in the inside cabin area. There are a few seats on the boat’s upper deck. You also get access to an observation deck back on land. Really a must-do to fully experience the falls.Written October 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- gfranichElizabethtown, KY5 contributionsThis was our first trip to Niagara Falls and will not be our last! We booked a Trolley Tour with Showtime with Shelly and she made our trip worthwhile! Since she is from the area, so she was able to tell us the best stories and “insider” info! She was hilarious and knowledgeable! All of the places from Goat Mountain, Maid of the Mist, and Cave of the Winds was an unforgettable experience! Our KY family had the best time!!! Can’t wait to return!!!Written October 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
