What travellers are saying
- Ginger B ROswego, NY534 contributionsWalked here in the fall for the first time. It's really peaceful, with plenty of nice trails. Saw many birds.. herons, eagle nests. The nature here is beautiful. ....Written July 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Izak WWatkins Glen, NY1 contribution###The bad###
ATMs died for a while and the cash only nature of most food and water sources meant no cash = no food or water. And it’s event style pricing so expect $10+ for a beer. Plan to bring cash with you, do not depend on the ATMs, but it’s also fine to return to your car during the event if you need to be thrifty… it’s only a few hundred feet from parking to the gate.
###The good###
Super friendly staff, shoutout to Matt at the Cannon Toss for a shining example of that. Lots of fun characters and plenty of guests embracing the theme and wearing costumes.
It feels like there is always something going on which is awesome, you can just wander around all day if it’s your first time.

This mini museum site offers an opportunity to look at transportation history and touch farm implements. The transportation room in the schoolhouse features a working model of the railroad line coal dock which exported coal from Pennsylvania. Harvesting ice from Little Sodus Bay is also portrayed. Out back is the tower which controlled the crossing of the Lehigh Valley line and the New York Central Hojack line. Be sure to take the stairs to the second floor and see Armstrong switching stands as well as explanatory pictures and notes. Alongside the tower is a fifty foot section of rail where one can try their skills at pumping a hand car. There is also a building which display farm implements and a physician’s horse drawn buggy. Plan to spend 90 minutes touring. This gem has limited times which it is open so check their website. There is no entrance fee, but donations are appreciated.Written August 4, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
