We were lucky enough to arrive shortly before Park Ranger Chuck led a tour of the manor and were able to soak up some amazing stories about those who lived and worked here.
The Moses Cone Park offers miles and miles of well groomed carriage trails for hiking and horseback riding.

We hiked on a couple of the shorter trails and sat for a bit just to enjoy nature in this peaceful garden.
It's uniquely located behind the downtown park, and have grades to satisfy most every body.

Small entrance fee but well worth the stroll on grounds, nature trails, through gardens and historical photo gallery museum.

Enjoyed a pleasant break observing the colorful trees and watching the children run and play in the park before continuing our walk along the shops.
Imagine sitting on a park bench among gorgeous flowers while you people watch and enjoy a Kilwin's ice cream cone.

The park is in great condition and very welcoming to on-leash dogs.

If you get the chance, GO! Beautiful views, animal exhibits, picnic areas, gift store, nature museum, lookout tower, a mile high suspension bridge....be sure to take your camera!
The private attraction includes the wildlife habitat and mile high swinging bridge, but MacRae and Calloway Peak as well as most of the trails are in the state park side.
