- Mauro MMelbourne, Australia351 contributionsGreat wines and ambience, very very busy. Great service and incredible service after the purchase. Would surely visit again during our yearly wine errands in South Australia. - Tamar LMelbourne, Australia99 contributionsThis place was amazing, beautiful historic buildings (including a blacksmiths and former bakery and butcher) and unique 180 year old vines. We did the extensive Freedom Experience and guide was incredibly knowledgeable, tasting was wonderful (and generous), it was just fascinating to learn the rich history of the region and the farm itself.Written December 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bruce L92 contributionsPindarie was definitely the highlight of our day out in the Barossa!
Tyler explained the history of the winery and the tasting room, one could imagine the Shire horses stabled there in bygone years.
The wine tasting or course was well conducted, and many in our group marked their cards for purchase of their favourite varieties!
We did not have time for lunch, but the tea and snacks were much appreciated, as was the opportunity to explore around the property.

- Michael MAustin, TX39 contributionsWe were doing a private tour of the Barossa Valley and our tour guide recommended we visit. We must admit to not knowing much about Basedow before arriving, but meeting the winemaker himself and hearing the family's story was really special. Lots of personality in the owners and even the patrons when we were there. Not pretentious or sterile - just good natured and focused on your own individual enjoyment - what wine tasting should be in my opinion. We're so glad we visited.
We liked what we tasted but bought a bottle of the "John Oscar" to enjoy later based on the winemaker's recommendation. It was not on the tasting menu that day, but we're looking forward to tasting it soon.Written December 16, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavoxxGeelong & Bellarine, Australia149 contributionsDifferent. Not your typical Barossa shiraz winery.
Start with a superb building, enter to be greeted by pleasant people who are proud of their product, and sample some of the nicest alternative products we have tasted anywhere.
This is different enough to be an absolute gem.
We came away with a selection of delicious meads, chocolate liquers and fortified wines.Written December 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had a 1 year old with us and so wanted somewhere for wine tasting, light food and an area where my 1 year old grandson could practice his new-found walking skills. This 'cellar door' was located next to the vineyards and had a large outside grassed area perfect for tiny feet to practice walking/tumbling. We arrived late morning just after opening and this was just right for us as there were fewer people. Enjoyed the opportunity to taste a few quality wines and a food platter consisting of cheese, meats, breads and accompaniments (perfect for little mouths too). We were made to feel really welcome and staff made a fuss of the little one (which he loved 😍) the wines, food and venue were all what I'd describe as quality. Just returned to England where I'll look forward to drinking the bottle of Barossa Valley White (2010 Marsanne. Roussane. Viogner) which I'd tasted at the winery and, thankfully, survived the 3 intercontental flights home. The Rose is a wine to taste also and I so wished I'd brought a bottle home with me too. Thank you Turkey Flat for a lovely experience for myself, my daughter and my gorgeous grandson.Written March 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
