- Margarita PDrayton Valley, Canada14 contributionsLovely small town market with lots of excellent "Make it, Bake it, Grow it" vendors! - rktwidale4 contributionsThis is a great little museum, and they offer free tours. I highly recommend the tours. We thoroughly enjoyed the many interesting stories, history, and knowledge that was shared with us. Highly recommend taking the tour.Written August 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sharon LDrayton Valley, Canada18 contributionsI have attended several dinner events at the Max Center and have enjoyed every one of them. The events are held at our local high school. Students in the culinary course assist in the preparation of meals served at each dinner event. Lighting, and sound systems, I believe is also done by the students which is a great incentive for students to get real on hands experience. The atmosphere and set up of the theatre is excellent and people generally have a great time when they attend the events. The performers, including comedy shows, bands and singing groups such as ABBA and the Eagles tribute bands were well worth an evening out. Depending on the event, it is sometimes difficult to get tickets in this small community of Drayton Valley, so whether you are visiting, live in other parts of Alberta, or live in our small community of Drayton Valley grab some tickets and enjoy a great evening out. The Max also hosts weddings, community fundraisers, private parties and corporate functions. The money raised by the events hosted back to helping Students.Written November 27, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben BCalgary, Canada14,382 contributionsWe like hiking and walking, and decided to explore this provincial park while we were staying in Drayton Valley. Our first walk was in the north block of this park, which is developed, signed by and managed by the local cross-country ski association. This section is just a walk in the woods, with hardly a river view. It would appeal most to people interested in wildflowers and birdwatching, or walking the dog. We would recommend long pants here, as in the summer, you'll be walking through lots of tall grasses. We were surprised to find that some of the trails doubled as a disc (frisbee?) golf course. In winter, it looked like it would be a fun place to cross-country ski, but should be lovely in the fall to see the colours.
Next, we drove back into town, and then continued south east a few kilometres, to the south block. The south block has a campground in one section. They have developed hiking trails in two parts, "Hillside" and "Hilltop" in a different section. We hiked all the trails in this section, and clocking in just over 5 km's all together, taking about 1.5 hours. The trails were generally good, but there were a couple of steep, muddy sections. Some trails were more overgrown than others. There were bugs, so we'd recommend bug spray.
The south block area was also a walk in the woods, with hardly a view, but with a few picnic table dotted throughout. We didn't see any fire pits. It might be interesting for winter-walking or snowshoeing, as long as the steep sections are manageable, but would certainly would be lovely in the autumn colour season.Written August 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 849tiasDrayton Valley, Canada3 contributionsWith Drayton Valley being so small and far from a city this was just what we needed! Somewhere to shop local for original and made items! - Jessica W1 contributionI took a paramotor flight with Claudio this August as a "birthday bucket list" experience. After rescheduling a couple of times due to weather, I got a beautiful day. It was fun to be able to steer for part of it and see the beautiful scenery. I felt very well taken care of, and Claudio's landing was better than WestJet ;)
I was very happy with the photos and videos of the experience as well!
My husband, who was waiting for me on the ground, was greeted and cared for by the other staff during my flight. Thanks for that!
I had very good communication via phone, text and email from the first inquiry, to booking and payment, to scheduling to find the perfect day! Would recommend!Written August 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This time the weather was too cold to make the trek into Edmonton. So we went here. Pleasantly surprised the popcorn was good and the theatre was clean with comfy seats and it was quiet.great place to watch a movie. Will definitely go back.Written January 2, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
