- wmanke12 contributionsThe trips to Malcolm Island and Alert Bay are short but scenic. The ferry is an older ship, but it features comfortable seating and the crew is efficient and helpful.Written May 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wolfcruiseTofino, Canada294 contributionsWe had 2 nights of camping here whilst we were visiting Telegraph Cove and the north island. we swam in this lovely lake, and enjoyed the beach. There were a few people here, but overall very quiet and peaceful. Can be hectic in July because the wind is up and the windsurfers are here!Written August 30, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alaina V3 contributionsThe experience of a life time! This tour was so incredible and it’s something I’ll never forget. Their local Indigenous guides take you on an unforgettable Grizzly bear and whale-watching tour through the Musgamakw Dzawada'enuxw Territory, also known as the Broughton Archipelago and the Great Bear Rainforest. This is where the magic happens! We viewed grizzly bears, were surrounded by humpback whales, sea lions basking on the rocks and stunning landscape! I highly recommend sea wolf adventures, their knowledgable/friendly staff, I am so thankful for this experience.Written November 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tanya JKingston, Australia5 contributionsI feel very privileged to have been able to stay in such a unique location, teeming with wildlife. Highly recommend the Sea Otter safari add-on too. It is the often the same wildlife, but it's a very different experience for wildlife and viewer from all 3 watercraft types. Guides & facilities excellent. Recommend staying in the Black Bear too, at both ends of the kayaking trip.Written September 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul R1 contributionBack in September we spent a full day with Rolf Hicker to photograph and view Grizzly Bears. Leaving Alder bay on Vancouver Island we headed straight for Knight Inlet where we had the best chance to see the bears. This full day trip turned out to be one of main highlights of our 3 weeks holiday. Rolf was very respectful of all wildlife, keeping a safe distance at all times. We encountered 5 different pods of Orcas, Steller Sea Lions, Dolphins and Grizzly Bears. During the trip refreshments were provided, we had an amazing lunch, much of which was home grown, all set in a scenic bay with amazing views. This was also a great trip to learn about the history of the surrounding areas, especially conservation efforts which Rolf was very passionate and knowledgeable about. This was a very relaxed and informative day with amazing wild life encounters. We will definitely be going back to Alder Bay to do some more trips with Rolf.Written December 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rblgoalie1Princeton, NJ9 contributionsThis is a review for the 6 day Blackfish Waters Orca Kayak Tour. This is my second trip with ROW Sea Kayak Adventures and they truly are an outstanding tour company. Having taken trips with other companies, it makes me appreciate the extra little things even more. My guides were Diego, Jon and Linden and they were all fantastic. They were knowledgeable, friendly, made us amazing food, and did a great job at bringing the group together. There were 14 of us (including guides) on this tour, mostly strangers, and we left all feeling so close and bonded. The guides did a great job of getting to know us, asking us about ourselves and sharing about their own lives. It really added to the experience. They were fun to goof around with when we weren't kayaking, but then very professional on the water to ensure our safety. You can't control nature so you never know what you will see, but you can have faith that you will have a great experience provided by the guides in this company!Written March 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Keith P8 contributionsMy wife and I visited the North Island with the primary purpose of seeing orcas, something we had never seen before. We booked with Anthony, and built our trip around his dates. We have been a bit disappointed on some other big boat whale watching tours. It is so hard to see. With Anthony, we were not disappointed.Beside himself, his boat carries only two people. What a delight. And so was the wildlife. Anthony took us to some transient orcas within 5 minutes of leaving the harbor. We saw lots of orcas and humpbacks throughout the day. As it was a nice day, he suggested we double up and do tomorrow's tour the first day. We had such a good time, we also did an extended trip the following day. My advice, 3-4 hours is way too short. Book a longer tour. You will not be disappointed.Written August 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
