- jcogolfskiWest Bountiful, UT54 contributionsBeautiful waterfalls well worth the drive and walk up to them. The road is paved all the way to the parking lot. We were able to drive up a 27' motor home, park and head out without any problem. The walk up to the waterfall is gorgeous. Keep going past the viewpoint to a picnic table closer to the main waterfall. One of my top waterfall hikes! Don't miss this one. - Bruce C6 contributionsWatching the local fisherman patiently wait to net the fish - fighting to go upstream - as the river narrows and is forced through this narrow canyon is one of the must-sees of a trip to this area. Sounds like a mini-Niagara Falls.Written August 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- richard cVancouver, Canada7 contributionsThe drive up to the entrance of the Crater Lake Trail was interesting as you have to drive about 19 kms on a gravel road to reach the Hudson Bay Mountain Ski Resort. The hike starts off quite steep as you walk between chalets on either side. After 20 mins or so, the trail levels off and the rest of the hike is not that bad. You'll be trekking through a vast field and from here you can see exactly where you need to go....towards the base of the glacier. As you approach the lake, the winds pick up and it can become quite chilly. I only stayed about 10 mins for a snack, then started heading back down due to the cold. You will be hiking on rocks, so it can be dangerous if it's raining. It took me about 1 hr 45 mins to go up and back down, stopping only for drinks and photos. The view of the lake was good, but I actually enjoyed the section near the start of the hike because you are hiking past beautiful pine trees.Written September 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Teresa HTexada Island, Canada6,447 contributionsThis is not advertised for summer traffic but it should be. We went up in August on a clear day and the scenery along was worth it. The road is paved to start and then gravel. Watch for logging trucks, but the road is wide and no issues. We drove up to the top and walked around. There is a great marked hike to waterfalls, about 1 hour each way.Written August 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave @ our placemediaWest Vancouver, Canada317 contributionsFantastic brewery atmosphere with super friendly customer service and very tasty beers. Serve wine and ciders for the non beer people. Must try when you are in Stewart.Written September 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cesmith71Prince George, British Columbia13 contributionsWe have been here a few times over the past 4 years. It was my partner's favourite campground. Nice campground with lots of sun, good services with showers & flush toilets, small beach but very sunny. We liked kayaking on the lake. Unfortunately 2018 there is a huge wasp population in the park but I believe this is just a one-off thing. Staff are friendly.Written August 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Teresa HTexada Island, Canada6,447 contributionsWe stopped in for a request of what to do for a day with a rental car in Smithers and were delighted with the suggestions, maps and directions. - Klaas KSmithers, Canada46 contributionsFor years already, this is the perfect quick getaway. After an easy 2-3 hour hike, mostly through the forest you arrive in the beautiful Silverking Basin. About 1 km in is the Joe L"Orsa cabin, an excellent place to stay a night or two. Several day hikes can be taken from the cabin to either the Highland Pass or Sliverking Lake, for example. We usually spot goats and the occasional bear on the slopes. But...let's keep it a secret!Written November 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Teresa HTexada Island, Canada6,447 contributionsA most impressive Museum and art gallery in a Heritage Building. Neat train car outside (radio station not open to public) and next to the Visitors Information Centre.
The displays are all being updated and are impressive. In the same building there is an art gallery that changes displays every 4-5 weeks. When we were there it was on the Fall Fair. There is a small gift shop in the Museum and one in the Art Gallery selling locally crafted items, reasonably priced, very unique.

West of Smithers is located the Toboggan Creek Fish Hatchery. We decided to stop and see what was there. The local Hatchery Operator was on hand and gave us a personal tour of the small hatchery facility. It was very interesting learning of the different types of fish that were in the local waters.
In fact, while we were there, some colorful steelhead were spawning in the creek. The Operator explained the process of digging the nest, laying the eggs, and the fertilization process of the various species. One interesting fact is that while many different types of fish spawn in this particular creek, they all arrive at different times of the year. The Operator was very personable and took time to answer all our questions, even to the point of giving us fishing and cooking tips! The parking lot is small and is right next to the hatchery building and small ponds, walking was not more than a hundred meters to see everything, including the spawning fish. This made for a very interesting and informative side trip to Smithers.Written May 20, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christianna BNottingham, UK2 contributionsI don't often use trip advisor to review places, however, I feel I couldn't not after experiencing the services in this place.
I am new to town. I have been here for a few months and I knew I wanted to find the right yoga studio for me. This is a beautiful, peaceful space with extremely welcoming and helpful and skilled staff. There are high-quality yoga mats and props available for use in lessons and I feel that everyone is welcome to join and use this awesome space. It is also the only place in Smithers that has a salt float experience which after trying this one evening I literally had the best sleep of my life afterward and now I am hooked.
A MUST visit whether you are passing through town or here to stay longer.Written July 9, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Best but is the stunning view on the drive from Smithers. And we saw deer on the road. - Zhong XVancouver28 contributionsThis is an ordinary lake. It is quite challenge to get there.
