- Susan DClaremont, CA5 contributionsI have had 2 experiences at Mill Bay Marina. One, last Saturday, was a delicious lunch at Bridgeman’s. And yesterday, I experienced the wonderful Saturna Island Sage Hayward Wine Tour. Greeted at the dock by friendly and professional Marlese, the tour organizer, we were checked in and on the boat in no time. She certainly gave us the sense that staff members are committed to quality customer service and ensuring a safe and pleasurable experience for all. Jerry, our boat Captain, was knowledgeable, courteous and fun! We learned a lot about the islands and the area.
The tasting and lunch at Saturna was exceptional. Lara was our host and her enthusiasm for the wine and the winery itself was inspiring. Feral Goat Bistro presented a mouth watering selection of lunch options accompanied with delectable limited production estate wine. Our purchase of wine was managed by a very nice friendly guy who has been with the winery through 3 iterations! .
I would highly recommend this trip hosted by Mill Bay Marine Group. They are exceptional!Written September 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have grape varietals you’ve never heard of and will become your favourites! The Chardonnay this year is my favourite for leaning towards a Chablis but staying on this side of the fence. - RobertMJThompsonVictoria, Canada719 contributionsWe were happy to finally find an afternoon to drive into this little provincial park after passing it so many times from Highway #1 on our way to Victoria. It's worth a few hours on a sunny day. Follow the signs from Mill Bay along a pretty shore road or nip off nearer the park by using the Uturn off ramp. There is camping, higher up and back from the beach, but the day use road takes you to a large parking area within 400 metres of the shore. Facilities include benches, tiered lawns, a large washroom/changeroom, outdoor rinse off shower. The waterway is tidal, the beach is pebbly with driftwood and plenty of broken shells.Written August 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - QueenoftheBorgCobble Hill Canada19 contributionsSadly, Terra Nossa Farms is closed to the public for an indefinite period. The owners are changing the focus of their farm. Sadly, there will be no more eggs. I'm hopeful there will still be blackberries in the spring.Written March 11, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our previous trip, pre pandemic, was in 2019. Happy to say the Outer Shores Expeditions’ Team has not missed a beat and if anything kicked it up just a notch – kind of like going from a ‘10’ to a ’10.1’.
Passing Cloud is a magnificent vessel that will appeal to any and all but in particular to those with an appreciation of wooden boat building. Her brightwork is meticulous and her layout perfect for the maximum 6 passengers and her crew of four.
The fabulous crew left nothing back when it came to meeting our every need. As a now former sailor, I would sail with this crew and this boat anywhere!
Each night was spent anchored in a different quiet anchorage where typically we were the only boat present. Each day was a smorgasbord of flora and fauna, both terrestrial and maritime. For us the route was chosen in the hope we might see the Spirit (Kermode) Bear and we were not disappointed.
As was the case with our first voyage everything was first class - the boat, the crew, the whole experience. If you have a desire to go eco-touring on the coast of BC you would be hard pressed to find a better group to deal with than Outer Shores ExpeditionsWritten October 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Amber was our guide. It was just a fantastic experience, Amber paid close attention to our skill levels and got us to expand our range of abilities. And we had fun as well!
