What travellers are saying
- Mo C4 contributionsIt was cool to see the progression of homes and lifestyle of the Acadians from mid 1800's up to mid 20th century. The village is huge, it's a full day visit, with many homes and buildings to see in a village format. The people who portray the villagers as it was during that time period did an amazing job of being in character, from cooking the food as they did back then, to farming, and working at a business. The highlight was the old flour mill that is still operational after 150 years. It's incredible to see the building, see how it works, and the brilliant engineering of it's time. The print shop, blacksmith, and barrel maker were also highlights. They also have a restaurant on site that offers a menu catered to that time period, it smells delicious! We didn't have a chance to try because it was quite busy. The homes were cool to see, as you start at the beginning, from mid 1800's to mid 1900's, each home has a character, or several that portray the family who lived there at that time. You can ask them questions, of how they lived, the history of the home, and establish a timeline of the lifestyle changes.
I would love to go back again, it was so cool to see and experience. Definitely worth to see!Written April 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Liquor are very expensive for the most part so if you're not ready to spend 90$ for a Whiskey, don't go. They have some vodka and "Eau d'août" that are fairly cheap and the beer prices are also not so expensive. Free visit of the distillery as well, absolutely fantastic!Written August 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
