A terrific performance by Donna and a thought provoking script about life in Newfoundland in the early 60's. Donna is a co-founder of the theatre group and is an Order of Canada recipient for her work. Best coffee and the most comprehensive set of Hardy Boys books available on the road! Once there you can view Trinity and the surrounding area from a different point of view. The whole bay is gorgeous. You can also see Trinity East which is also very beautiful. To get to Trinity East you have to go to Port Rexton and there you will get another perspective of Trinity and the Lighthouse.

The lady in the gift shop told us to make sure to go next door between 2:30 and 4:30 because they were giving out a Newfoundland treat.
Normally, it would cost to go through the house, but it was free the whole week we were in town because of being Truth and Reconciliation week.
It is a historical house belonging to a woman and her family that lived here in the 1800's. There is a room full of information when you first come in, then you go into the kitchen where you can receive a different Newfoundland treat each day if you come between 2:30 and 4:30. The first day we were there, we sampled cod cakes and partridge berry pickles. (We came back the next day and sampled pork toutons (pork buns). The food was very good both days.
Then you can get a tour of the house with a guide that will give you loads of history of the family that lived there. In one room you can even dress up in clothing from the era.
The guides, Margo, Bonnie and Dennis, were great. You can purchase a pass there very inexpensive that allows you to visit a number of the historic building in the village. The friendly staff will also give you an idea of what to see and where and a brief history of Trinity. - connie1320234 contributionsWe had an advantage going to this place because one of my group knew one of the blacksmiths, so we got a very personal tour. The guide was informative and the smiths were more then willing to show us their talents. I purchased a keyring leaf that was made before my eyes. I ended up turning it into a necklace. Second, its historical importance as the oldest wooden church in Newfoundland and Labrador. It is fairly small but still large enough to have the Stations of the Cross. In the small upstairs loft there are more pews. They also have a nice selection of chocolates suitable for gifts. I bought their homemade ice cream instead. I choose Raspberry Lemon Sorbet and French Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. You won’t find anyone in the world more passionate or knowledgeable about the wildlife and sea in Trinity and Bonavista Bay than Kris and Shawna. Kris’s zest is contagious and his skills set in spotting a whale tale is unparalleled. I’m convinced he’d find a whale in a lake, he could find a whale anywhere! You won’t regret planning a few hours at sea with Kris.
Don’t forget to visit the shop on site for the nicest and best quality merch around! You might even get to cuddle Minke (yes-their dog’s named after a whale) outside the suit shed! Knowing that the whales had already left Trinity Bay for warmer climes, we were bused 40 mins across the pennisula to King's Cove, where we were rewarded by the presence of a pair of feeding humpback whales. We were able to observe these beautiful citations in their natural habitat for well over an hour before heading back to shore. Having whale watched in larger vessels, the experience of being on the water in a pontoon boat, with only 14 other people made this trip a truely memorable experience of bring up close and personal with the wildlife.
