I had no idea about Alexander Graham Bell beyond him inventing the telephone. He was also a pioneer for his work in the field of deaf education and experiments with flying. So fascinating!

We attended a play in July and one in August and enjoyed and appreciated both. The actors were very skilled and versatile in their acting abilities. We enjoyed the sets and the clever way that the space was used. The props were also brilliantly used in both productions. we will definitely be back next year.

The Cabot trail has many little waterfalls along the side of the road. This is a bonus to the fabulous scenery of the Atlantic Ocean and small fishing villages

We didn't get close up, but enjoyed the views of this lighthouse from the pier. Next time we'll stay in Baddeck longer.

What the Baddeck boardwalk lacks in size, more than makes up with the views. We enjoyed taking a stroll along this most attractive walkway and even stopped to sit alongside the lovely sculpture of Mr. & Mrs. Alexander G. Bell. The views overlooking the water and the Kidston island lighthouse were gorgeous, even on an overcast day.

As we had the pleasure of staying at the Water's Edge Inn, we were able to see the Gallery before it's opening to the public this year. It is filled with a wonderful and varied selection of local art including paintings, photography, crafts and artisanal pieces - it's a must see!

During our shore excursion from the “10-Day Canada and New England” cruise aboard Caribbean Princess ship last October, we visited the great inventor Alexander Graham Bell’s exhibits at “Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site”. On the way back to our ship, our bus stopped by the Baddeck Village center a few minutes away for coffee and shopping. Instead of getting into a restaurant or shops, we walked uphill for a few minutes to an attractive church with classy façade in black and white. When we walked into the sanctuary, we were pleasantly surprised at the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the sanctuary. The interior decors were very simple and yet elegant. The bright light coming through the windows kept the sanctuary bright and warm. The simple stained glass window with Jesus holding a lamb was impressive. The recessed altar area was somewhat unique. This Catholic church with Scottish heritage was quite different from typical Catholic churches with ornate and solemn interiors. And, yet, we felt so warm and inspired in the sanctuary. There was a choir rehearsal going on at the time, allowing us to listen to beautiful hymns while we sat down on a pew for a while. A visit to this church is highly recommended to the visitors to Baddeck.

This is a great spot for intense cross country skiing. The trails are well maintained and the cabins are cozy and well equipped. A must-do for any winter enthusiast.

We stop there to walk the dog during a long car trip, it was beautiful and well maintained little trail, maybe 700m total. It passes near a lake and is quiet, probably more then the picnic tables near the route.

One of the most amazing immersive experience with this kind of music. It captured the essence of what ceilidh is all about: a gathering of other community in song and dance and food. And the place, for the price of admission, provided Cape Breton Tea and local oat cakes, served in porcelain in china teacups. How can you get better than all of this? Oh yes, the performers were incredible! Sold out house and it usually sells out each night so get tickets early!
