- Sandy SRiverside, CT652 contributionsVisited on the one rainy day of our Nova Scotia trip -- museum is interesting, but was very crowded due to the weather. We enjoyed learning about Bell's work with the deaf, with the telephone, and more surprisingly, his work with hydrofoil boats and early aircraft. Unfortunately, wasn't not that much to interest kids, since it was a lot of reading and not particularly interactive, although they did provide the kids with a free welcome kit with some information and trinkets. Still, a worthwhile stop.Written February 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- rmacduffWindsor, Canada1 contributionThoroughly enjoyed the evening, captivated from the git-go, awed by the utilization of a minimal set design and ability of cast to alternate their characters. First time in attendance but we will be back, drove 5 hours to come and see this play, got interested after reading an advert in the Halifax Herald and we were rewarded for our efforts. Thank-you.Written October 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- eleanor GNewport, RI350 contributionsHad I known how little water was there I probably wouldn't have done this hike in 90 degree weather. It was described as an easy walk but when you are older, easy is sometimes not appropriate.Written August 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jae LLong Island, NY5,904 contributionsDuring our shore excursion from the “10-Day Canada and New England” cruise aboard Caribbean Princess ship last October, we visited the great inventor Alexander Graham Bell’s exhibits at “Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site”. On the way back to our ship, our bus stopped by the Baddeck Village center a few minutes away for coffee and shopping. Instead of getting into a restaurant or shops, we walked uphill for a few minutes to an attractive church with classy façade in black and white. When we walked into the sanctuary, we were pleasantly surprised at the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the sanctuary. The interior decors were very simple and yet elegant. The bright light coming through the windows kept the sanctuary bright and warm. The simple stained glass window with Jesus holding a lamb was impressive. The recessed altar area was somewhat unique. This Catholic church with Scottish heritage was quite different from typical Catholic churches with ornate and solemn interiors. And, yet, we felt so warm and inspired in the sanctuary. There was a choir rehearsal going on at the time, allowing us to listen to beautiful hymns while we sat down on a pew for a while. A visit to this church is highly recommended to the visitors to Baddeck.Written September 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mary AOntario, Canada24 contributionsAs we had the pleasure of staying at the Water's Edge Inn, we were able to see the Gallery before it's opening to the public this year. It is filled with a wonderful and varied selection of local art including paintings, photography, crafts and artisanal pieces - it's a must see!Written July 31, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Viviane H158 contributionsWe stop there to walk the dog during a long car trip, it was beautiful and well maintained little trail, maybe 700m total. It passes near a lake and is quiet, probably more then the picnic tables near the route.Written August 24, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kay MAugusta, GA1,680 contributionsWe went here as part of a cruise ship excursion on the same trip as the Alexander Graham Bell National Site. It is well worth the trip from Sydney. There is an big, old bridge that you can get some good photos of, and there are plenty of swimming opportunities in this huge saltwater lake.Written August 25, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 78redsoxSaint Andrews, Canada30 contributionsWith all of the new centralized court houses it is great to see a traditional 19th century court house located on the Main Street in this beautiful town. Step back in time and remember how court houses use to be before the large urban courts replaced the beautiful architecture of the 19th century court houses.Written August 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pjferVanderhoof, Canada67 contributionsWe were so privileged to be able to attend this event. John, the gentleman who took our reservation was so kind and helpful. The evening was an absolute delight. The music was incredible and we enjoyed the engagement that the musicians Had with the audience. It was so fun to have the tea and oat cakes and visit during the intermission. I would love to come back here sometime. It will definitely be Highlight of our trip to Cape Breton.Written September 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine J1 contributionMy husband and I stopped at the ranch after a morning of kayaking and were greeted by friendly dogs, goats, and a donkey. There were chickens, ducks, including a duck and her 2 ducklings, rabbits, an emu, a couple ponies, and lots of horses. We hung out with the animals that were in the pens closest to the house until Dale and her helper came back from getting hay for the horses (just to be on the safe side). Once they had unloaded the hay, they gave us a tour, introducing us to all the animals and telling us a bit about them. They were all so sweet. My favorite was the 35 year old pony! I would definitely go back here again. Only thing I would recommend is bringing hand wipes for after petting all the animals!Written August 12, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
