This is a DO NOT MISS hike along the cabot trail. For us it was second only to the skyline trail on the east side of the peninsula. We walked there from the Keltic Lode and the scenery was spectacular.

Delightful short boardwalk with some really interesting flowers & plants. Ideal little walk to see some varied scenery.

It is only about 2km but it is up the hill so not always that easy. But totally worth it for the view at the top. You go through 3 old growth forest types...that are enjoyable. There are places to rest along the trail if need be.

Pleasant lake walk, mostly easy but you have to watch not to trip on the tree roots. There was a sign warning of recent bear activity but we didn't see one nor any moose.

Great place to stretch your legs. We saw a bunch of seals. Veey accessible, just a short walk from the car. You can scramble if you want.

The lookouts are fantastic, although the trail can be a little confusing. At the end, we started the shorter leg of the tree loop. It was blistering hot and quite uncovered, we should have just backtracked and stayed on the lookout path. Lots of places to stop and sit on benches at the lookouts. Very accessible unless you choose to scramble. At the first overlook we looked onto some rock pools and a waterfall at black brook beach. We went there next and it was fabulous.

The trail starts at the Ingonish beach and continues along the lake and through woods. A good place to start your day
