A hidden gem to take the dog for a walk. It always amazes me how many people know about this place. I also mtn bike from my house and back.. works out to about 16 k.... not too strenuous but it does the trick.

We used to get taken here by parents & friends to go fishing when we were kids in th 50's & early 60's. It was really a memorable place for me...

But personal interests seemed to horn their way into the area, & we were effectively barred from fishing at the mouth of the creek there --- "Private Property."

Oh well, I still have fond memories of what once was...

Very Interesting to see and walk through old Historical Buildings

Great for abandoned Historical Buildings Photography

There is signs and cameras all over and electronic voice warnings to not trespass and leave immediately or authorities will be dispatched.

I was not there to vandalize, touch or disrupt anything.

Unfortunately I think the land has been sold to developer and the land will be developed in the near feature with residential housing and a park. I am all for development however these buildings have historical value and most likely the buildings will be demolished and removed as they are beyond repair and a potential safety hazard and to make room for development.

Have played here multiple times even this year. It really is a great little course, and well cared for. They don't really have a clubhouse, but there is a shaded area to get a drink and clean washrooms. I think its a good layout, easy to follow and not playing into other holes. Its challenging enough, but not terrible. Give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed.

The golf course is basic, no sand traps but the long grass makes up for it, only 1 water hazard. This little gem of a course is a great place to practice your short game, it's got carts available but not many so reserve one if you really need one, but it is an easy walk through the orchard and a few holes have long yardage to test your irons.

After your round you can sample some delicious wine and purchase wine, apples, Empire cheese is sold here - the carmalized onion cheese is devine plus they have nice gifts, you can make up your own basket or they have ready made ones always ready to go.

Very nice people operate this golf course and winery.

This course needs a lot of work but for the price and the vip memberships for $25, you get pretty good value. For $25 you get half price buckets at the driving range and 2 for 1 golf. You’re only allowed to use the mats at the range even though they have an area for the grass. The mats are very old and worn. The course itself isn’t very well kept. The fairway grass is too long in my opinion and the tee box is non existent. When we went there were a lot of mosquitoes probably because the course was so close to the bush. Either way if you just want to get in a cheap round or practice on the range, it’s a good place. Also the reviews on the owner are also true. Almost every time I go, he’s on the lawnmower yelling at someone. Just don’t hit off the grass in the range and don’t drive the carts on the greens, you’ll be fine... I think.

Bad Fairways, this golf course does not have many good fairways. Crabgrass with lots of dirt patches. I will not be coming back to play there

My husband got a gift at Christmas. we made a booking for him May 17th (his birthday) at 1:00 yes they tried to sell us extra, but we refused. they told us to be there 45 minutes before. what they didn't tell us is the wait time.... unreal.. 1st my husband wanted to drive the Nissan (they only have 1) if he knew they only had one he would have not waited 4 hours in line to drive it. per lap is 5 minutes. you figure if a guy buys 8 laps you are waiting at least 40 minutes... something they don't tell you either. well the guys in front of my husband took more than 2 laps.. then they had to gas it up... he stood in line for 4 hours.. our booked time was at 1:00 we got there at 12:00 he passed at 4:30. Their lack on communication is horrible. I get if people pay for 8 laps.. but damn get two cars that go that speed, so the line can keep moving..... these line ups were longer than the lines at La ronde... if you plan on going bring sun screen pack a lunch or snacks because you are there for the whole day...... they also should offer FREE water while you wait in line...but no they sell it.... there is also a small snack shop off site and is very $$$$$$......also remember to bring extra money to tip your co pilot....

My brother and I had the pleasure of spending a day on Rice Lake with one of Joe's guides, Mark Rowley. Never caught so many smallmouth in one day! Mark is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely book with the Joe Ford team again!
