This is an exceptional retreat to escape to - my first visit (2 nights, 3 days). It is much more than a day spa given the ambiance and plethora of wellness services. The setting and rooms are beautifully appointed, the food wonderful (although we ate too much), and the staff providing therapeutic and spa services very professional. the grounds are amazing with walking trails, quiet tucked away reading/resting spots, and well kept gardens to enjoy.
There were two disappointing aspects. The first was the noise level around the 5 pools which are close together. The mornings seemed the worst with groups talking and laughing loudly about work and other things despite the signs everywhere about respecting noise levels. this was not conducive to what should be a peaceful experience.
The second was with an administrative aspect. My partner had made the reservation and everything came to her which she forwarded. After a phone call we managed to get our bookings etc. separated so that was fine. However on checking-out, the desk person would not split the room charge and separate our services as was requested earlier - she would only split the bill in half and immediately put it through before I confirmed any of it. Our services were quite different. Only one bill was provided which we had to sort through to understand whose charges were whose. We found it unusual that the charges were put through so quickly without even a check by either of us which is normally done at hotels. When I mentioned my concerns she was dismissive.
Both of these issues could be remedied fairly easily with some staff/management intervention. We hope to return to Ste. Anne's again.
