We purchased a ticket at the conservation area at the front gate and he charged $20 for the car. There is a large parking lot. There is a building at the front with washrooms. And a map showing the 4 trails and also bike trails. We did the Hilton falls trail- yellow coded. I like the trails are clearly marked. The falls are about 45 minutes away. The trail is wide and you will encounter an uphill rocky area. Not suited for wheelchairs, strollers or people with mobility issues. The trail gets flat after that but it can be rocky in areas. More suited for mountain bikes which was what we saw. Half way to the falls there is a port-a potty and a bench. The only bench you will see until the falls. The mosquitos were out that day. You will need repellent. There is a beaver lookout. When you reach the falls you will see a pile of wood and some people at a fire pit. It was a nice walk to the falls and some people were climbing on the rocks and getting into the water for pictures. I didn’t get into the water. Looked slippery. Next time I would like to try a different trail.

Delicious from scratch baked goods. Interesting lunch menu. Fresh apples, strawberries and corn available.
Wide range of pickles, dressings and preserves.
Purchased several pies. Excellent quality pastry. And delicious fillings. Crumble top pie could benefit from more fruit.
Gift merchandise varied; some unique items. Somewhat expensive.

Located in Milton, Ontario under the Halton Conservation Authority, Crawford Lake is not only for the nature enthusiast, but will be of interest to anyone that would like to explore the science, anthropological, and even indigenous civilizations side of this conservation site. The nature side of Crawford Lake is beautiful. It is filled with a number of progressively challenging trails for hiking, beautiful vistas overlooking the Halton Region, and if you are lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of the turkey vultures flying overhead by the edge of the cliffs. On the science side we have Crawford Lake itself which is very rare. It is a "Meromictic" lake - kind of like two lakes in one. Essentially, there are two very distinct layers of water that will not intermix and the bottom layer is fully oxygenated. Interestingly however is how geologists were able to use the sediment from the lake and discover the archaeological footprint of indigenous people that settled in the area, namely the Wendat or Attawandaron. Following this, the conservation site has a dedicated area displaying an indigenous settlement complete with long-houses that are free to explore. Something definitely not to be missed are the Fall colours. Crawford Lake like many of the other sites operated by the Halton Conservation Authority are great places to visit and spend time outdoors where the air is fresh and scenery is beautiful. There is a gate fee per person, or annual membership that can be purchased if you are so inclined. Reservations are recommended and can be completed online easily enough.

We had an awesome experience with mesmerising views of fall colours, a scenic chairlift, and a peaceful boardwalk around a lake. The park is neat and clean, perfect for a day outdoors.
However, the traffic management on fall weekends is poor, it took us 2 hours just to enter.

Woodbine Mohawk Park hosts Standardbred Racing 5 nights a week starting at 7.10pm on Monday , Tuesday , Thursday , Friday and Saturday. You can also wager on numerous other tracks around the world. There is plenty of free well lit parking that is monitored and patrolled by security. The facilities at the track include large clean washrooms and a number of eateries from sit down dining to fast food. The prices are reasonable. There is a large enclosed stand that is climate controlled and is assessable by walking up the stairs or taking an escalator for your viewing pleasure. The public area of the Racetrack is spacious , well lit , clean and secure. You can bet and cash tickets at the many kiosk , or at the wickets if you prefer the human touch. However there usually are only one or two wickets that are open , as such than can create a wait time to place bets or cash tickets. There is also a Tim Hortons on site that operates on the days there is live racing taking place . There is also a small lottery store that sells of course lottery tickets but also some Mohawk clothing and pop and snacks. Woodbine Mohawk Park is also attached to a separate building that hosts Woodbine Mohawk Casino. Woodbine Mohawk Casino is a two floor structure. You can get to the second floor by escalator or Elevator. The Casino is large and hosts a number of slot machines and tables. The casino is well lit , secure and clean . There are sufficient washrooms that are also clean. There is 3 main eateries. One upstairs and 2 downstairs. The staff at both the casino and racetrack are professional , knowledgeable and friendly. The variety of the slot machines is good and usually all machines are operational.

Great staff who were friendly, helpful and informative. This was a winter activity we did, and it was cold, so dress appropriately! Beautifully lit pathways with tea lights for a perfect winter night walk. Fire pits at each end of the walkway for you to warm up, and hot chocolate at one end for a tasty treat. There was also free cookies that were pricier, although they were pretty basic and lacklustre. Washrooms were clean. Parking was right at the entrance.

Hubby and I brought our dog for some farm fun, and we had a blast! Everything was clearly marked, staff were kind and knowledgeable and the apples were delicious. We rode the tractor pulled wagon out to the varieties that were ready. The rows were very clean; apples were easy to reach without stools or ladders. The small nature trail was very cute. Many different animals in the petting zoo, kids' play area looked quite fun. The younger farm dog wasn't too happy to see our dog, but staff took it upon themselves to promptly give him a ride to an other area. So we had no problems. My only critique is that the apple cider we purchased tasted too much like juice for my taste, but I'm sure some would consider that a plus.

My family has enjoyed three seasons at Glen Eden, and I highly recommend it for beginners due to its small size and ease of navigation. The instructors are fantastic, guiding your family, including children as young as three, to confidently ski any hill. However, I advise against going without booking lessons first.

Private lessons, typically booked for the entire season, span 8 weeks from early January to mid-March. They cost around CAD$150 for 60 to 90 minutes, which I find worthwhile for novice skiers. This year, the snowmaking was crucial as the GTA lacked natural snow, with the center's ecological snowmaking process being dependent on temperatures below -2 degrees Celsius.

The terrain is simple and suitable for beginners, although it can become monotonous for frequent skiers. Lining up for the three chairlifts, especially the popular West end one, can be time-consuming, although instructors receive priority boarding. Food options are limited, with only one spot offering hot, affordable meals (The West End side). The hot meals include burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches with fries. Some selection of drinks include coffee, moca coffee, hot chocolate, gatorade and Coca Cola products.

Indoor facilities could use renovations, as they resemble a community center with basic amenities. Despite the shortcomings, I believe improvements could enhance the overall experience, especially considering the cost of lessons.

If your on the fence about going to the farm for strawberries this year GO! This year’s strawberries from Stonehaven are so sweet and flavourful. I made the best strawberry jam I’ve ever made with them. Stonehaven also has a wonderful market and the friendliest staff.

Nice building but a long wait for service... Need more staff there, and longer hours. It is the best way to deal with town hall - go in person
