What travellers are saying
- DoverDaddyEmsdale, Canada803 contributionsThis is a beautiful place to visit. With tons of camp ground sites, some with hydro. Amazing trails to walk through with amazing views of autumn trees and waterfalls. A few nice beaches to swim and kayak.Written October 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- GrahamP113Witham, UK2,017 contributionsTo really experience a back to nature this is exceptional. To take a walk through the woods and see the maple taps was so natural. The homely feel to the place and with real warmth from the owners. To see this real ‘cottage industry’ creating really authentic maple syrup products, and the ice cream was amazing was just wonderful. Thank you for letting us into your life and hope you continue for many yearsWritten September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gloria B61 contributionsHow many children can say they went up on a air balloon with Santa 🎅 ? My Grandchildren did. This will be a great memory for my Grandchildren for many years to come. The whole experience was amazing from the breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus to the high ropes course at the end of the day. Highly recommend for a all day of family fun.Written July 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michael LVictoria, Seychelles16 contributionsBeautiful, calm and sunny afternoon tour with family and friends. A WW2 steamship with a history. Great tour round part of the lake taking in a beautiful shoreline and small island views, some built on, some not so. Good bar on board for sundowner drinks etc. Thoroughly enjoyable tour but all a bit too short. Highly recommended.Written October 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Minh NChampagne-Ardenne, France17 contributionsScenery picturesque hike. Park front gate is closed in winter. Luckily snow falls on the days we was there makes it even more beautiful. Lots of tall trees looks feel secluded at nightWritten January 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

You can park at the bottom of the hill and pay a small amount or you can drive up the hill and pay a bit more and park closer to the tower.
We did the latter and there is quite a bit of parking so you should be able to find a spot.
To get to the top of the tower you have to climb a metal staircase and there are places to pause and admire the view or get your breath back.
Obviously there are stairs and they are a bit steep so I would not recommend climbing this if you are a person who struggles with stairs or heights. You may not want to take children up unless you are sure they can manage the climb.
That said it is a magnificent view from the top of the surrounding area.
Back at the bottom there are other places you can get a view including Peek-a-boo Rock and also check out the giant binoculars.
There is a gift shop which also sells refreshments like drinks and snacks there so you can get some souvenirs of your visit.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mable MaeBarrie, Canada117 contributionsBooked a full tour with a wagon ride and wine tasting for 6 people and it was amazing! We all had an amazing time. The cranberry plunge was my favourite part and the pictures you take are awesome. The only thing was a couple people in my group couldn’t do the plunge because they only have 2 pairs of XXL coveralls to go in the water.Written August 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Doug WMississauga, Canada3,018 contributionsMy father was a summer visitor to his aunt's cottage as a kid over a hundred years ago and was always massively interested in Muskoka all his life at that same cottage. I remember running to the rocks to see the SEGUIN and SAGAMO passing the cottage, belching smokestacks through the Indian River to and from Port Carling on the "Hundred Mile Cruise". This museum brought it all back.
I only had a superficial knowledge of the Muskoka area but visiting the MDC over the years I have learned so much more.
This should be a "must stop" for not only visitors but also residents as well. The new(er) "MISKO-AKI (Red Earth) Confluence of Cultures" is massively informative with so many beautiful exhibits and artifacts. It alone is worth a few hours.
Needless to say the crowning jewels are the magnificent and historic Muskoka boats in the boathouse. Absolutely breathtaking in their majesty and astonishing refurbishments and maintenance.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Note no power in the otentiks. Lots of trails to hike and bikes available for rental. Fun park.
Take advantage of the programs available at the park. The are posted with times in front of the visitor centre.
Attended the Medicine plant walk which was fantastic. Our guide and assistant were great. It was a fascinating walk around the main front area where plants were identified, tasted sumac and heard fascinating stories. A water snake was also identidad resting in the front shrubs.
Also attended the Bat walk later in the evening where they showed us the resident bat boxes. Now inspired to build one.
Park Naturalists are very knowledgeable and friendly.Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was beautiful and perfect. I have bad knees but we found a perfect 5 km hike in boots without a lot of vertical. The paths seem to be pretty packed so I don't think anyone needs snowshoes unless they're looking forward to it. Pretty quiet on a weekday.Written February 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
