- Helen RToronto, Canada2 contributionsMcGregor Point is a beautiful, shady and comfortable park on the shores of Lake Huron. We had a tent, and a private campsite in the tent area, as we did not need electricity.
We went to the Park Store for delicious ice cream, and we went to the Nature Centre where we walked out on the boardwalk to see the sunset.
Swimming was better in Port Elgin, as there is a nice sandy beach there with all the amenities of chairs, showers and change areas.
We had a wonderful experience in McGregor ParkWritten August 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stays shallow for a way out so good for kids. Great beach side burger place. Couldn't ask for more.Written September 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TiaJanecaPort Elgin, Canada61 contributionsThe trail is good for walking, but I use to bike, because there I don’t need to worry about cars. It’s always clean and cool, the trees and foliage helps to keep the heat out.,Written July 9, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ThevaZagreb, Croatia2 contributionsI've been to this location 3 or 4 times now. Every time I go I have about 20-30 people, this includes a dozen kids. We get the group camping sites and its been great. There is a small play area for the kids, which is great and its possible for us to see them from our camp site. The person running the camp ground is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet! The bathrooms are great and the people are great. Quick drive to a small beach makes it perfect. Best is viewing the stars at night time. I highly recommend this place.Written August 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Nice beach with a friendly atmosphere. Great place to enjoy with family/groups.
Adequate parking, beach is a bit small but has lots of facilities including beach volleyball.Written November 1, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. By and large an easy walk. On my most recent walk, was surprised by a middle age bicyclist who was descending one of the few steep pitches at excessive speed.Written November 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jacqueline GOrangeville, Canada59 contributionsThis is a nice sandy beach off the beaten path that is not too crowded, at least it wasn't when we were there.Written August 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cass8-4ULondon, Canada3,474 contributionsHeading home from cottage country and stopped to pick up some fresh veggies! The farm extends behind the market as far as the eye can see.
I was disappointed that the only products available for self serve were corn and cantaloupe! Produce is expensive - corn $7/dozen and $4 each for jumbo cantaloupe which were incredibly juicy but still green inside the rind. For other produce, you have to ask at the cash counter and everything is pre packaged.

Cases of hand made chocolates have you drooling in anticipation. Hand pick a custom box to give as a gift or to hoard for yourself. The popcorn! It is absolutely the best! They do offer a variety of prepacked chocolates, some in colorful seasonal wrappings. How can you not want to go in and savor the experience.Written March 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Indah EdlightzOntario, Canada3,034 contributionsits a nice track. weird at only 12 holes but money talks and houses need to be built. but the course is very well maintained and fun to play. the staff is top notch, very friendly and helpful. i would come back again for sure and try the burgers at the silo grill.Written July 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zofia PToronto, Canada162 contributionsWhile visiting in Port Elgin last week, we stopped into The Wismer House for lunch on their great outside patio. Service was prompt, the server pleasant and attentive and our lunches, consisting of Caprese Salad, Apple & Avocado Salad, (both nice and fresh) a Wismer Burger and an order of Sweet Potatoes Fries, were very tasty, and our wine and beer nice and cold.
We’d certainly stop in here again the next time we’re in Port Elgin.

I will miss it as I have golfed there since the mid 70’s.Written May 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tessa B1 contributionVery disappointed, have been going there for 15 years. The new owners have not keep us with the grounds, the main house gardens are a mess, the grass was not cut , it was a beautiful Saturday morning, they had no pies ready. No other baking on display. The store is now filled with toys, very little apples on display to buy. They are now charging 10$ a basket to pick your own, not a bag anymore , blaming it on COVID. It’s really sad. The previous owners would be very ashamed.Written September 18, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
