Had a good day exploring the Fleurie peninsula on this trip. The driver knew his stuff and kept up an interesting commentary of all the places we visited. We started with a visit to Strathalbyn where we stopped for a short time and could have a coffee. This was a lovely little town. We also visited Goolwa and a viewing point to see if we could spot any whales, before lunch in Victor Harbor.
Lunch was a carvery, and to be honest, if I could change anything about the tour, it would be this. It wasn’t that great. I did not realise, when I booked, that the lunch was optional, and had I done so, I would have found another cafe in town for a lighter lunch.
We had time in Victor Harbor to walk over to Granite Island or just explore the town. There were historic buildings and very attractive houses in all the towns we visited. We did not really get much time to spend in Mclaren Vale on the way home, longer would have been better. But I enjoyed the day.
